Hey, is this a Bluff check or Intimidate check?

Sep 25, 2008 23:53:52 I have a Good rogue who needs to get some information from an uncooperative source. He knows the information is important, but all diplomatic methods have failed.

So I draw my dagger, press it against his neck, and whisper "Open your lips or I open your throat."

However, my character wouldn't kill the guy either way. This is the last resort.

So I'm trying to intimidate him, but using a bluff to do so... what kind of check do you think it is?

Sep 26, 2008 0:39:51 I'd say this is intimidate... most Intimidation is essentially making the target believe you will do something horrible to him. Your real intent does not matter that much.

Or.. the DM could rule it is a skill challenge requiring both intimidate AND bluff to pull off successfully.

This is intimidate, plain and simple.
