How to improve a Kender Rogue?

Ok, this is the deal: I've got a eknder rogue who is currently at 8th level and was built for fun.
He shunned some of his skills because they are non-kender style of playing( Hide, MS, Disguise, Forgery, Sense Motive, Appraise)
His current feats are. Skill focus: Sleight of hand; Nimble fingers, Deft hands.

We are currently playing in akind of Labyrinth set up by some really high level wizard who invited his friends to see us struggle through layer after layer, solving riddles, finding clues to escape the rooms and fighting some monsters.

OoC the DM told us that we would gain at least two more levels in this "dungeon and would be rewarded something in the 8000-10000 GP area per Person. ( Note that we entered the Labyrinth at lvl 7 with 6000Gp spent on Char.Creation)

Now my Question is: what should be my next feat? (upon reaching 9, but only to be aquired after leaving the labyrinth)
I'm considering w.finesse but thematically id. prefer Skill focus: Open Lock (even though i had a plus 23 at lvl 7, but no skill training inside the labyrinth.)

And the bigger question: what equippement should i ask my DM for after finishing the adventure?

What is interesting for a kender ? It should be fun entertaining but also a support for the party. Shiny would be good too.

Superior weapons or armor is uninteresting for the char( he does not even feel the need for MW weapons...).
A cloak of resistance is "boring".

some of the more funny items i came to think of are:
Lens of detection- good for nosey people.
Bag of tricks ( no matter what colour)- mhm, let's see what we got here.
Ring of x-ray vision( I really MUST see what's behind this wall...)
Decanter of endless water.

Now has anyonesome suggestions for me?

Can you provide more info about your character, like your ability scores?

Assuming your Dex is higher than your Strength by at least two bonus points, Weapon Finesse is infinitely better for your character than Skill Focus anything.

Weapon finesse was a mistake for my rogue. I was always getting him smacked around in melee. When I hit level 3 I picked up the feat and at the same time started using a shortbow. Made the weapon finesse fairly useless, while my combat prowess and survivability went up.

@ kerelis: Great Idea, I love it. And it would turn our cleric completely bonkers. :D

about feats: My dex mod is 4 points higher than my strength mod, so i would greatly benefit fro w. finesse melee wise.
On the other side i have my trustworthy MW crossbow. But in a party consisting currently only of Barbarian, cleric and rogue it often happens that i get involved in melee action.

On the other side is my little Tasselhoff REALLY keen on opening every door, box and whatever seems to be locked...

Im currently considerig to retrain all of his feats after we finish the riddle adventure( what will take 3-4 more evenings) to improve his combat abilities alltogether.
I was thinking about: TWF, Point blank shot, Far shot and quick draw combined with 20 daggers...

Any more funny ideas for a 10K GP equippement?

just read through the feat descriptions and i found the perfect thing for little tasselhoff: Attracting cohorts via the Leadership feat.
Would it not be great to have a second kender rogue as cohort? finally someone who really understands you, to whom you can chat to endlessly, and maybe about 10 young kenders as followers...

But one question arises can a cohort attract a cohort via the leadership feat?

Our party cleric would go REALLY mad

Yeah, and then get all of those kender followers their own personal wand of wonder!

Do that and the world will end....and no one will be sorry.

Sovereign press has the DL license for 3.5 they have put a bunch of really nice kender stuff. Id try and find races of ansalon and war of the lance. One of them has the kender PrC called the handler its amazingly good.

It's a race similar to halflings native to Krynn, the world of Dragonlance. They are all kleptomaniacs and completely fearless...while being full of endless curiosity. Imagine a race that is composed entirely of very bright, very curious 3-year-olds.

In order to play a Kender properly you must execute the following dialogue at least once per game:

"That's mine!"
Kender: "Hmm, how did I get that in my pocket? You must have dropped it. Here you go."

Also:

The party is being confronted by the evil lich/demon lord/villian:

Evil guy: "You have come so far for nothing! Muhahaha! Now you will watch as the world is crushed beneath--
Kender: (Tugging at his pant's leg) "Excuse me, but did you know your fly is undone?"

And Also:

The party has come across some strange glowing artifact with runes and markings.

Zander, the party wizard: Hmm, we should treat this very cautiously. Allow me a moment to cast a few divination sp---Kender! get away from there!
Kender: (At the same time) Hmm what does this do?
Artifact: Ka--booom!
Kender: (After having picked himself up) Zander, did you see that? That was very interesting wasn't it? Why did it do that? Do you think I can get it to do it again?
Party: No! (Restrains Kender)

good summary @ kerelis

but the correct answer to the evil guys monolgue would have been:

" oh, hello ( extending hand) my name is Tasselhoff. What's your name? My,my,my what a big shiny thing you have there ( pointing at the sceptere of uberness), let me have a look at it...":P

Also, 30 seconds after having been thrown into a prison cell:
(Tapping on the prison wards back) : "Excuse me I have a request to make. The lock on this prison door is so poorly made, even my 3 year old cousin Peterle could open it with the pin of his diaper. I kindly ask you to put me into a cell with a more challenging lock!"

60 seconds later: "Well that lock was a little better but - looking around, pointing to the torture chamber- what is this room over there, the tools inside look interesting, would you mind if go and have a closer look ?"

actualy, wouldnt the kender have handed the party those nifty keys he found that look a lot like the ones the guard is missing?

9it used to say in the old 2nd ed dragonlance campaign books that kenders never take important items from party members. (the archer is not going to find his quiver empty two rounds into combat, but maby missing his resin pouch and an apple)

dragonlance is my favorite series so thank you for puting another kinder into the world. most people overlook the fact tha while he was always easaly distracted tasslehoff could hit when he was needed so my suggestion would be you need to get some combat ready feats, also luck feats in the complete scoundrel would not be uncalled for in your little scamp
