| #1sirkaikillahSep 11, 2010 15:16:36 | So last night I played a game of DnD with new inexperienced Dm. At fourth level we fought one solo creature for over 2 hours that had 800 hit points. At no time was any Pc in any threat. We just surrounded the thing and grinded the hit points away. It sucked. The previous game almost never happened, new inexperienced young Dm, pussied out, tried to hide in his house when the other players went to pick him up. He showed to the game unprepared and upset at others for talking about an upcoming campaign, after he moves away. He hid and did not prepare his game because he was upset two people could not make the game. So that game really lagged as he was unprepared. Last night new Dm throws at us all kinds of funky house rules, if you roll a 13 something weird happens. If you miss with an encounter but then roll a 20, the encounter is reliable. A vampire who can dominate a PC, no save. Dominated PC are controled by Dm, Dm takes character sheet and attacks with a basic attack. This creature had 800 hit points, massive damage ressitance that could only be overcome with a critical hit, and took us 1 hour to bloody the creature. The monster only did menial damage and at no timewas any Pc threatened. In 2hours of combat our healers only used healing word, twice. Oh we are all divine classess, because none of the power sources exist, even martial, that means no one can train as a fighter. Anyway it was a big flop. I am usually a confrontational guy, but after the hissy fit last week, I am in no mood to tell him last nights game sucked. I am just not good enough friends with him to take on the emotional effects of such a confrontation, with someone I see as very immature (all of 19 years old). Anyway what should I do? I like the guy, I want him to succede as a Dm, but right now he is making a lot of mistakes. I just don't know if he can take the criticism. Should I confront him? or should I just stop showing to his game and wait tell his Dm stint is over? He has two more sessions then he is moving off island and I Dm Dark Sun. |
