How To Tunnel To Victory. Help Me?

Feb 27, 2009 2:28:11		I am trying to create a character for a game that my friend is starting that is a simple "Capture The Fortress" game. He is having us all create 18th lvl characters to lay siege to this fortress. We are being given no advance information on the Fortress or what is in it. All that we know is that there are a few Thousand defenders and only 5 of them are going to be higher level then us, and those 5 will be limited to lvl 22. This game is going to be pure combat, Leadership is on the table and nothing is limited as long as it is not Homebrew and is not out of the Epic Level Handbook. We are expected to play as a team rather then just beat the whole thing ourselves. My fellow players are working on the forces to overwhelm the occupants inside the Fortress as well as to keep them occupied while the tunneling is taking place.

I am working on a character that will be able to burrow his way into the fortress from underneath. My plan is to have a Mount that can Burrow through the ground and as it burrows have Dwarves or Gnomes shore up the tunnel behind me. Then once we have the tunnel constructed then we will send in the legions.

Help: What I need help with is to fill in some blank spots and possibly gain some advice.

1st: What am I limited to for a Mount? I have checked the PH and the Rules Compendium and neither of them has been much help in telling me what I can and cannot ride. Only what I take negs for riding.

2nd: Is there any way that I can travel underground with my Mount besides with the Ashworm Dragoon Class? I like the class, but it isn't quite what I'm looking for...

3rd: Does anyone know what can burrow through Rock, I have found references to what can, but nothing listed.

4th: Grafts: Is there a reason that I cannot put Grafts onto a Mount? and if so where can I find other Grafts besides Undead and Dragon Grafts?

This game probably won't begin for awhile, but I would like to get started on it ASAP so any answers/suggestions would be most helpful and appreciated!
