so in my D&D 4e group one of my group mates is playing an evil bear shaman. the DM just gave the player a new figurine for his bear, which apears to have genitals. this has triggered the player using his bear to **** quest line targets, and party members. it is role played as not being the shaman - it's his bear. i want to permanently destroy this characters link with this bear. i would like it if the shaman could establish another link with a different bear... one that doesn't run around raping people, because that makes me terribly uncomfortable. i am trained in arcana, nature, history, and religion, so there's gotta be a check that can help me here.

failing this i'm going to just kill my fellow player, which i'd rather not do just yet

This sounds like a problem best solved by out of session conversation.

Odds are, thanks to DM fiat, that you won't be able to do anything to the object ruleswise. Not even if you get a signed note from the game designers. So it falls into the ol' "discuss problem with DM/Players" catagory. Good luck....

Tell him where he can stick his bear.

You missed the context.. "cruder ways of telling him to go forth and multiply" as in "F* OFF".  But yeah, said player reproducing and raising those reproduction is probably not in the best intestests of the rest of us.

"Thats gross and stupid. That doesn't happen."

"Let me rephrase that, if you guys decide that this does happen I am leaving."

"door closing noise"

That is a player to player issue.  It won't be resolved by killing an in-game pet.

Sexual assault of player characters, without consent of player is just bad form. This only gets worse when it's someone who's younger* or of opposite gender in real life.

Steps to consider
- Make it as hard as possible for the player character to use the bear in any given situation.
- Confront the player out of game
- DM might be attached to the atomically(sp) correct figurine, but you should convince said DM to reconsider what actions are okay.
- Kill the player, not the bear.
- Leave the party.
((This can be done if the player refuses to grow up or simply stop furnicating with every unwilling target))

If it's the DM doing it to NPC's... although weird; unless the theme is anything goes - it's not -as- bad ... but the way described, I'd get this resolved as quickly as possible. I would not want to be in a party where my character, pets of character, allies of character are hump toys for another party member and their spirit companions.

If the player is killed off but sticks around; convince the DM to never* let them have access to male genitals again. - Familiars or otherwise.
