I need help with an equation

Dec 22, 2008 12:18:21 Does anyone know the equation for receiving money by level? If not the equation, could you tell me the level equivalent gold for a level 21?

Honestly I would rather have the equation set to memory for further use. I've been trying to figure it out in the DMG but the numbers seem so eratic I can't seem to quite find an order in it.

Dec 22, 2008 13:09:52 There's an old thread that attempted to find the formulas for all sorts of things in 3.5. In that thread (which is now in the archives), a user named Bob Loblaw posted the following comment:

Treasure and Character Wealth

Neither the treasure tables, nor NPC or PC wealth
tables, appear to follow a regular formula.

The post in which he says that isn't too far down from the start of the thread, if you'd like to locate the source.

There might be a formula out there, despite what Bob says (though he's a pretty sharp guy). For example, I vaguely recall figuring out a formula for NPC wealth, though to get it to work you had to ignore the first couple of levels. Let me see if I have that somewhere in my files.

I think it did, but I rarely looked at my copy and sold it when I upgraded to 4th.
