I think if you read over the classes, you will be able to find options to let you "recreate" about any character concept, as long as you don't hold it to too high a standard of compatibility.

The main thing with anime or kung fu movie conversions is to try and get the character concept down, and not worry too much about the literal powers. Abilities from those genres are usually only represented by high epic level games of D&D, if even that. Frequently they go beyond what D&D is willing or able to produce.

If you want something like a swordsman, look to the Fighter or melee Ranger and use swords. If you want an archer, look to the ranged Ranger. If you want a tricky fellow who "gets one over" on his enemies, perhaps you could try Rogue or Warlock.

There are more classes than just in the Player's Handbook 1, but you can accomplish most things just by using those default options, and possibly a home-made feat or power or two.

Multiclassing is also an option to mix different things in.

EDIT: Just to note a few generic archetypes represented in classes from other books: A magic-wielding swordsman can be easily represented with a Swordmage from the 'Forgotten Realms Player's Guide.' A raging madman with an axe can be well supported by the Barbarian class in the 'Player's Handbook 2.' A mystic sage might be represented by a normal Wizard from the 'Player's Handbook 1,' or maybe an Invoker or Shaman from the 'Player's Handbook 2.'

If you have a specific character concept in mind but don't know where to start, you might try the Character Development or Character Optimization subforums just a bit above this one. By specifically describing what you want the character to do, people will be able to help you further.

The soul collectors from bleach are very varied in their abilities. I suggest that you create an avenger(ph2) that worships the raven queen (god of death). Avengers are divine strikers that use one weapon and have some teleporting abilities.

I second the nomination of Avenger as a likely candidate for what you're looking for

I can see Paladin, Swordmage, Avenger, Fighter, Barbarian, or Warden, depending on what char you want to emulate.

If you're looking for an Anime-style feel, I'd direct you toward a striker role.

I'm not familiar with Bleach, but I also believe Avenger would be the best fit, based on a quick Wiki search on Shinigami in Pop Culture. That class has a very anime feel, is very mobile, powerful, and packs a great deal of punishment for any who dare attack it.

Edit: On second thought, I suppose an Assault Swordmage would work - especially if you added a few creative twists to their abilities, DM permitting. Rather than deal elemental damage, they could embody the powers of life and death and deal necrotic damage. Despite being a Defender, Swordmage would also meet your needs, I think.

Note though about pure Avengers: They are very accurate attackers, but they don't deal very impressive damage most of the time. Their higher damage (and thus classification as a Striker) is from the more reliable medium attacks they make over time, not so much from powerful individual attacks.

If you hate to miss though, that is the class for you.
