I think he means the swords the Ranger pic has on p. 103 of the PHB. And I have no idea

Give your DM a wishlist, and ask that the swords you get are cosmetically changed to look like those awesome weapons, or something similar. So they look the same, but as far as abilities go it is the same thing as a boring longsword +2 or something. The appearance of things never matter.

You mean lightsaber?

And also, everyone here is right, there's no flat out answer to that question, but if you speak with your DM, he will probably allow you to have a weapon that the blade turns green and sheds pale light when drawn.

Ah yes i meant lightsaber...typo. The only reason I hesitate to do that is a sword of a similar type recurring in the WOTC books, this makes me think it is an actual weapon with stats. Does anyone know where i can find those facts.

There's the sunblade. It glows.

If you want a really cool sword, literally, try a frost weapon.

Do weapons of Brilliant Energy still exist in 4e? If so, that'd be the one.

They do, but not in the Player's Handbook. They're in the Adventurer's Vault.

Get someone to cast continual light on your sword.. maybe with dim or hue modifier.

Must not be the stealthy type of ranger huh? :P

Not a ranger at all...I am an invoker. I just want a fancy sword, I can't wield it effectively, but who cares. I would probably just use it for ceremonial stuff. Nobody in my group uses a sword...

Well, if you want one mechanically that acts that way, then look into Radiant or Brilliant Energy.
If your DM isn't against you refluffing things, you could basically reflavor ANY magic sword to look like that. If I were DM, I'd even let it shed light as the Light cantrip, although it would take a minor action to turn the light on or off, or you could sheathe it as a free action to douse the light (since that takes you out of combat-readyness)

LOL! I didn't laugh because this was particularly funny; I laughed because I spent about 4 seconds trying to understand why a frost sword is "cool."

Thanks for the pick-me-up!
