| #1symphonic_tempestApr 08, 2008 19:17:41 | For the upcoming campaign I'm in, the setting allows us to be from "any world or setting you wish. Whether a D&D setting, or the world from your favorite comic book or SciFi novel, or even from the real world." The only specifically disallowed choice is a Rancor Sith Lord. :P If you could play anything or anyone as a PC character, who would it be? |
| #2pigknightApr 08, 2008 19:27:49 | Well the NPC (in a serious campain) is Chris P. Bacon, multi-class knight/marshal. He's an awakened boar. |
| #3pintslayerApr 08, 2008 19:55:42 | How about this? A super LG paladin named Algore. He struts around berating adventurers about the impact their torches are having on dungeon air quality and demanding emissions checks on the PC's horses. He also speaks in a monotone and claims he invented magic. |
| #4malcaorApr 08, 2008 19:56:09 | I'd be Trogdor the Burninator. Take leadership to have Strongbad follow you around singing (he's obviously a bard). |
| #5themidnighthoboApr 08, 2008 20:12:21 | Well the NPC (in a serious campain) is Chris P. Bacon, multi-class knight/marshal. He's an awakened boar. That's... that's awesome! Does he smoke a pipe?I'd have to say that either Rincewind or Nanny Og (both from Terry Pratchet's Discoworld series) would be hilarious to play. Especially Nanny Og. |
| #6xavonApr 08, 2008 20:17:48 | Speeding Bullets: Superman as Batman --------------------- Seriously, what are the limitations on this? What kind of character gen? Gestalt? What splat books? |
| #7symphonic_tempestApr 08, 2008 20:37:18 | Seriously? I asked if he was basically throwing the world of D20 sourcebooks at us and saying "go to town", and he said yes. I asked about ignoring LA so as to play a cooler race, and he said try to stay away from it, but didn't disallow it. It's a 3rd level game. I had in fact already been thinking of an Awakened Baboon Wizard, but the well of inspiration is otherwise running dry for the moment here. |
| #8toran_a_sunderApr 08, 2008 20:51:28 | Off the top of my head, allowing any and all d20 source books, I would play a Neutral Good Awakened Lemur Monkey multiclass Druid/Jedi. HELL YES!!! :D |
| #9bladestarApr 08, 2008 20:53:17 | A goliath fighter with monkey grip, weilding a huge great crossbow, who says you can't have a portable ballista!!:D |
| #10pigknightApr 08, 2008 21:18:17 |
No he does not. It's bad for his health (BTW when he was awakened he got 18 int, wis, and cha, no seriously). |
| #11evilcouchApr 09, 2008 6:12:24 | 18 cha Everyone loves bacon! |
| #12gentlemanicApr 09, 2008 7:19:10 | ANYTHING? :| I'd ask that first. After making sure I'd play Ginger Spice, a sassy female human bard. |
| #13sinfire_titanApr 09, 2008 7:43:23 | It involves one massive Warforged Ninja. And I mean massive. |
| #14zombie_babiesApr 09, 2008 13:13:41 | How about this? Algore is also known to only travel in large caravans and will frequently contract dragons to fly him to his speaking engagements. Everyone knows dragons are fueled by beans. Algore is famous for hypocrisy. :D Or, with liberal template use, you could play Algore's arch enemy: Manbearpig. |
| #15shaggy_shaggsApr 09, 2008 13:50:25 | Anything d20? Hell. I'd play a Prophet from the the Pendulum's Promise game. |
| #16dankster1221Apr 09, 2008 15:43:40 | Thorbrun Steelfist, LN Dwarf Monk/Drunken Master... |
| #17tharivol266_dupApr 09, 2008 16:34:41 | i had a similar thing happen to me for a short term epic game. except that we were limited to mostly dnd books still. I ended up with a templated gnome druid beast master who rode on top of a t-rex that had a laser(or machine gun) mounted to its skull with a virtual menagerie of animals around me that acted as mounts to other characters. |
| #18xavonApr 09, 2008 19:21:52 | Any source book? Sounds like Pun-pun time to me... |
| #19darthcestualApr 09, 2008 20:12:45 | A buddy of mine played the Taco Bell dog as a Jedi in a Star Wars game, named Yo Quer Ro.![]() |
| #20Demetri_KnighthawkApr 10, 2008 1:18:40 | break out the book of erotic fantasy. that should make everyone ![]() |
| #21FleckApr 10, 2008 8:48:55 | I've always had a lot of fun playing anti-stereotypes. So my suggestion is "Angelface" (real name unknown), NE Aasimar rogue. No crime is is beneath this utterly selfish bastard. He uses the reputation of his race for being good guys and maxed out skill ranks in bluff to dispel any suspitions that he might be responsible for the crime wave that just hit the town. Placing false evidence or stolen goods in the homes of perfectly innocent citizens is a common ploy he uses. As the respectable citizen he is, it is of course his duty to inform the city watch about these suspicious items. His favorite scapegoats belong to races with half- or -ling in their names, especially halflings.Quote: "Look, would I lie to you?" ![]() |
| #22m1kh43l_p4r4d1s0Apr 10, 2008 10:35:02 | Chuck Norris |
| #23metzenApr 11, 2008 2:01:52 | Halfling cavalier+ riding dog Centaur cavalier+...no mount Werebear(panda)+monk Wererat+barbarian Neaderthal bard with an electric guitar and and metal inspire competence tunes. |
| #24servingwenchApr 11, 2008 5:08:55 | pacifist oger-monk with vow of non-voilence Bubbles from the Power Puff Girls, druid with a coloring addiction |
| #25Jam412Apr 11, 2008 9:15:27 | Being limited to just D20 material, I would have to go with a cyborg from the Deadlands Hell on Earth. Actually, I would do this even if i could use other systems... |
| #26sblaxmanApr 11, 2008 11:03:37 | A mage focused on using shout/greater shout to deafen his opponents, goes by Bilbo Righley In the end he and algore talk each other to death and save us all the suffering of listening to them |
| #27twiddlestootchApr 11, 2008 12:01:21 | This guy. His name is Kore, FYI. |
