alright i will try and make this a quick read for you guys:

our party is lvl 11.     we have in our party a:
1.  elf scout (damage/controller and scouting)
2. xeph soulknife/illumine soul (damage and healing and undead baning)
3. elf swordsage/wizard (support and backup)
4. human fighter/warblade (main damage dealer)
5. spellscale dragon shaman (main healer and supporter)

before i was playing a frenzied beserker but the group had enough with my char and couldnt handle the conciquences of him always being frenzied and last night i killed off two of my party members.   so it was a group vote for me to change my character to something different.

i'm very open to lots of ideas and what would be a good fit to the group.   i love the role playing aspect of classes and doing damage, also being support but i tend to shy away from the healing aspect of things.

thank you all

P.S. this is for 3.5 edition!

Beguiller. You won't be dealing damage directly, but you can be very effective in combat. Plus it looks like your group could use a dedicated social guy. Beguillers are great at that.

Dragon shaman, or mashal
Both are great with static buffs

Death by frenzied berserker? Bad way to go, indeed. Probably for the best, though, given that frenzied berserkers become TPKing machines whenever they stub their toes.

From the (very) brief overview of the party that you gave and what you used to play, I would think that you could do with another meathshield, since you just gave up yours. A knight from PHB2 would work best, I think: The fighter/warblade is presumably using a two-handed weapon and Power Attack in conjunction with his Sublime Way maneuvers, so something a little more defensively oriented would complement him nicely. And as knights get a soft taunt in the form of Knight's Challenge and a hard taunt in the form of Test of Mettle, you actually can do a fair bit of battlefield management with them.

If that doesn't appeal to you, I'd suggest an artificer, the ultimate dabblers in spot utility. As the party outlined above could definitely use a bit more magical utility.

wow all great choices! although i probably wouldnt play another barbarian lol the party would fear of me going into another frenzied beserker class lol.

you know, i was also thinking either being a straight fighter TANK, pure pure tank, with DR, buying mountain plate,  possibly using a goliath race? or possibly a dwarf!?   then maybe even go into dwarven defender?

as for a magic user, a specialist mage would be in order! nothing evocation, or necromancy,  but rather an illusionist.  possibly even going into master specialist.  i even thought bout taking specialist in conjuration and then going into malconvoker PrC.

another option i was considering was doing a complete straight psionic (kineticist). but seeing the powers i know the group would probably just say "well seeing as if ur killing everything off, we'll just let u go on ahead and do everything while we sit back and relax"

i'm still open to other ideas! :D like i said, i like the idea of Roleplaying more, but i like the idea of a bit of flare to the class.  :D
