Her name is Rose and she's working for the Thieve's Guild to destabilize the region so that they can come in and take over. Of course she wants to do this in total secrecy, so she pretends to be a nice girl. Because she's pretending, she should fit into the storyline pretty well and even add some (she'll help save the village, but at night she'll sneak into town and assassinate the local cleric or something). The problem is, some of the players in my group have a tough time keeping things in and out of the game respectively. For example, one player got offended by something a character was doing that his character shouldn't have even known about. They're getting better, but I still don't fully trust them. So rather than trust that they'll handle it well, I'm thinking about having Rose dress up as another class (maybe ranger or swashbuckler?) and having that character sheet on top. I'm just looking for ideas and suggestions. Has anyone ever done anything like this? |

Long story short if you didn't already know, Dallah Thaun is only known of amongst halflings and has to be kept secret. So she's posing as a good cleric of Yondalla with the party, a bit difficult with the paladin; but since she's neutral the laser eyes don't work. The way I dealt with it was to tell the players beforehand what was up with her so they wouldn't think I was being shifty. They are doing okay at seperating player knowledge, and I think they would have been more mad at me if they weren't in on it. Obviously I don't know your group, so I don't know if that works. But keeping secrets from characters is fine, keeping secrets from players may well lead to OOC animosity. |

Either tell the group or don't whichever works for your group, but make sure you let the DM in on the gag, maybe plan a few things out with him/her before hand. Out |
