| #1loganic1Mar 17, 2008 14:00:41 | My DM made a room that had the effect that anyone who entered a door was A) cloned, clone was ported to a holding room and made good and B) the original became a lich and evil and kept the items (clones are naked). One of our party and his kobold friends went through the door and destroyed it (all becoming liches and evil first). I had gone off on a separate route and came in to find our party members exchanging words and light spell fire. The lich was hiding behind a protection from good surrounding a portal with evil aura (part of the dungeon), which stopped the rest of my party, but I passed through it without much notice since I'm CN. Pretty much my gestalt warlock fighter is going solo against the liches. I don't think either my character or the rest of the party know that that one character has become a lich. And finally, if we do find out, we're clueless as to the phylactery. (no it's not the clone, although that wouldn't been interesting) I don't have full knowledge of the dungeon, so there may be more than I know at work, but any input as to how to figure out that they're liches and how to find their phylacteries would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, if I realize that they're liches, I'll have to bath the room in acid and hope for the best. (by the way, we're all level 11 gestalt characters. My other party member has some cleric chicks he had been smoozing on, so I'm sure they'll help as much as they can, from behind the protection from good spell.) Edit: On a random note I found a random anti undead intelligent item. Don't know quite what it does, but it managed to cast a gaes on me not to destroy it, and was able to give me ghost weapon enchantement, and free detect undead. I figure it might be able to figure out that they're liches if it has enough info, but at the moment, I just know that they're undead. |

Since the DM threw quite a few rules out the window with this (admittedly novel) trap, there is no way for you to know what the phylacteries are. They could be icebergs on the world's northern pole, if the power level of the trap is any indicator. |
