| #1gloreindlJul 30, 2010 17:58:29 | I have a bit of a problem - My former D&D gaming group has let me down, so I am looking for a new group here in Albuquerque, NM. However, finding other gamers is proving to be a bigger problem than I had hoped. Some players will not play 4E, while others are still playing 2E (which I don't mind, but they have no openings). I've asked at my favorite local gaming store (FLGS), Active Imagination, but 90%+ of their players play M:TG or are wargamers. How can I, as a player, best use any resources to find a new group? I am starting to have withdrawal symptoms. |

| #7lordfeintAug 04, 2010 12:56:27 | I'm also a bit curious what happened with your regular group. Did key players move away? Are they switching to a game or playstyle you don't like? (WoW and MtG were the Deathblow to more than a few of my game Circles) I live in a pretty average sized community with a single local game store, and I am still very surprised to find that there a TON of people in my area, (Heck even a whole group of 6-7 gamers just NEXT DOOR!! that I NEVER knew about til just last Saturday) that play D&D. (They are currently starting a 2E game, but also play 3.5 and have tried 4E) I'd hang out for a bit at the Game Store and see who comes in to get or look at the RPG stuff and go from there. You could also put up a notice at most gaming stores advertising that you are looking for a new group. |
