The thing I love about magic casters (wizards in particular) is their versatility. So many different options to create a unique "flavor". I will give you my wizard's profile, and I would love it if you would do the same. It's always fun to see the different ways people have created unique casters. Format:

Name:

Race:

Signature Implement:

Build:

Paragon:

Epic Destiny:

Familiar:

Other Information:

My wizard

Name: Vlendis the Blue

Race: Human

Signature Implement: A staff carved of a seven year old tree that thrice survived forest fires. It's top is carved in the shape of a dragon head. The dragon has emeralds for eyes and a potent fire crystal set in the back of its throat, allowing it to "breath" blue fire. It can also channel other spells as well.

Build: War wiz/summoner

Paragon: Unseen Mage

Epic destiny: N/A

Familiar: A black and grey cat named Fernand that turns into smoke when he's uneeded.

Other Information: Vlendis the Blue wears dark blue robes. He has black hair streaked with silver and grey. His familiar reflects his appearence, having black and grey fur.

Name: Samsara

Race: Deva

Signature Implement: Swordfist (Self-Forged Battlefist, but as a heavy blade instead of a mace)

Build: Orb / MC-Artificer

Paragon: Self-Forged

Epic Destiny: (Eventually Archmage)

Familiar: n/a

Other Information: Samsara dual-wields his implements: an enchanted swordfist that's replaced his right hand, and an orb in the other. His tactic is placing a Stinking Cloud over a cluster of enemies and then boxing them in with a Wall of Fire. It's so...beautiful.

Name: Kreslin No Name

Race: Human

Signature Implement: Fancy clothing in various shades of grey with maroon or burgandy trim or accent, and a gnarled wooden staff covered in runes that hold a protective spell (Defensive Staff)

Build: War Wizard. All his power are, and will continue to be, things that would have fit in either the Evocation, Conjuration, or Transmutation schools in older editions.

Paragon: Academy Master (7 levels to go)

Epic Destiny: Sage of Ages (17 levels to go)

Familiar: Does not have one, and will not have one... too self-centered to keep a "pet," no matter how convienient.

Other Information: Kreslin is young (for a wizard) and group up in a Wizarding academy, becoming the youngest graduate, and then the youngest professor, ever (in the DM's setting at least). After a number of years teaching Advanced Evocation classes Kreslin had learned everything he felt he could from his academy, and set out into the world at large to find something new to learn...

His "core concepts" for mechanical choices are simple: blow stuff up, and have really high knowledge skills.
