In my circle of friends I have the Nickname Minon Killer. My DM hates when he uses minons, hates when he has too, just hates using minions. I come into the game and they are having a skirmish with about 12 minions and three solo guys. I run out into the fray and do Battering which is on my hammer. I also have a feat called Hammer Rhythm which on a miss deals my con mod as damage. Battering stakes that in a close burst 3 I make a melee attack against every enemy in that area. Hit or miss I still do enough to kill them so I dropped all 12 minions at once and now onto the three bugbears lol.

I want to see other "Titles" people have garnered in there DnD circles and how. So lets hear em!

I'm pretty sure minions don't take damage from missed attacks

Sorry for taking your title away, but minions never take damage on a miss. Not from Hammer Rhythm or missed dailys. You are playing it wrong

Yep, misses don't kill minions.

My title is Rules Lawyer, because of the group I try to keep track of all the errata and potential questions that could come up. Not because I create metagamed characters that take advantage of broken things (I find the broken things, and then bring them to the group for us to develop appropriate house rules instead).

HP 1; a missed attack never damages a minion.

Source: Every minion listing.;)

In case you are going to come back saying a miss should do damage to a minion, I would like you to take a look at the wizard power Fireball. I believe that is a Ranged burst 4 within 10. That does like 5d6 damage or something like that, but on a miss does half damage. So if misses hit minions, and there was a wizard in the party, there would never be any point to ever have minions.

Or you could rechristen him a "Mignon" killer and have him devour very expensive steaks in an incredibly messy manner...

What are you using to make Giant Burst 8 attacks with a cleric?

The best way to auto-kill minions are (not surprisingly) the auto-damage effects, especially from zones and auras. The Archlich is a master of this since lvl 21, basically making near every minion useless. But lot of other systems exist... Stances, AP effects, etc.

I am known in my gaming group as "The Spiller" due to an unfortunate propensity for ruining everyones character sheets.

Uh...........

1. that doesn't use your hammer. That is an implement attack.

2. Your DM is doing it wrong.

He's talking about how he uses that attack to regain his minion killer status, sir. He made another post saying he uses this instead, now that he knows misses don't kill minions with his hammer attack.

This is nice, I guess I missed it. I got a cleric myself and could not remember any burst 8 attacks, I need reread my paragon path choices. lol
