Hey everyone, I'm in a campaign right now where my PC was robbed blind.

He's a NE level 1 Half-Elf Soulknife. I like him so I don't want to reroll or anything like that.

I have this: shirt, pants, my body, my mindblade.

I have two other guys on my party that didn't get robbed. (there are just the 3 of us) One has 14gp that he's willing to help my cause. Neither will sell their equipment. We're in a metropolis sized city. Eberron. I can't remember the nation/house/city we're in, but the guards are undead.

I need ideas to make some money to get back on my feet. I'm not above robbery, murder, or anything else... unsavory. Suggestions?

PS: I don't think I deserved it, but whatever; past is passed.

Undead guards mean Karrnath, probably that city that starts with an A and is called 'the city of night' or something.

Well, you are evil and you aren't above murder so I will give you an idea:

1) Find the local criminal element(whether by tracking down the thief that robbed you or from a gather information check) and start placing your mindblades into the mind of someone else.

2) Loot the bodies and interrogate the survivors to find any more members of their gang

3) Repeat steps 1 and 2 until you have killed ~80% of the gang

4)

5) Profit!

Warning! All my evil ideas always result in making me enemies!!!

Hahaha, I love it. Especially the profit. I hadn't really figured a way to find "the criminal element" as you put it, but I'm sure I can find someone to rob. Also, I'm a little worried since my armor is nowhere to be seen. 13 AC is rough in a fight.

There's still three of you. Backstab a local thug and you should at least get a set of Leather armor or something; then work your way up through the ranks

Also; nobody said you had to pay when you get new armor

That sounds awesome. Maybe we can actually turn that into an adventure of sorts. Taking down a gang in town sound fun haha.

You don't need weapons, since you have your soulknife.
That leaves armor and equipment.

Chances are, even the most basic lowlife scum will have a dagger or some sort of weapon, possibly even armor, and three 1st level characters against a commoner isn't a fair fight, even without your armor.
Start mugging gang members, pimps and drug dealers for their stuff - even if you don't find any cash on them, you can still sell their goods.

Just be sure to find out first what sort of structure the local criminal element has - if you stick to freelancers and people operating outside of "Uncle Joey"'s good graces, this will atract less notice, as it can be chalked up to rival small fish fighting for territory and limited resources. You don't want to find out you just whacked Uncle Joey's favorite nephew who was pulling his first job to get started in the business.

Also, remember - the game isn't really about robbing and killing random NPCs, so as soon as you get enough money/gear to get back to where you started from financially, get out of the robbing-people-in-alleyways business and back into the robbing-monsters-in-dungeons business, even if mugging NPCs is easy and profitable. Since characters don't start with all that much money, it shouldn't take too long to get enough cash together to recoup your losses.

I would say, barring the pimp killing, that doing little odd jobs around city X would be a great way to do it. Nothing fancy, but basic low level monster slaying. As someone said, soulknifes aren't as gear dependent as most classes, so focus on the basics and then continue on.

Try house Cannith or something. Might get ya some quick, easy jobs.
