Need Raven Queen Information

Jul 30, 2008 11:33:37 I'm going to play a cleric devoted to the Raven Queen and I'd like to know if there's more information out there on her than the little blurb in the PHB.

Can anyone help me out?

Jul 30, 2008 12:54:36 Yes. You should feel free to work with your DM to flesh "her" out more if you want.

However if you are desperate for printed material, and your DM is OK with it, then I find that the Raven Queen shares tons of similarities with the Forgotten Realms deity Kelemvor (of which there is a lot more printed).

Kelemvor is a bit more of a "good guy" god of death deity even though he is listed as LN (3rd edition), so just remove those aspects and make him more uncaring and you have pretty much the Raven Queen.

Jul 31, 2008 1:22:07 Also, consider the death-associated aspects of Wee Jas. Not so much the alignment-specific stuff, as the Raven Queen is unaligned, but the general WJ fluff that relates to her as an anti-undead, and general, "mistress of the dead," sort of thing.

I'd avoid the magic-related aspects of Wee Jas, since they seem more to have been absorbed by Ioun, whom I'm now deeply in love with.

Aug 02, 2008 20:09:05 The lack of information is a good thing. It gives you more freedom on how to play your character; instead of scores and scores of edicts that make all the followers clones, you can have differences of doctrine within the various churches.

It's nifty.
