hey this is more of a question, not that me and my dm are arguing over it, but the dm re-read the section on turning/controlling undead and things that a controlled undead by a negative energy cleric only lasts for minutes.

He has said this does suck and if i can make him see that it isn't just minutes of control (which IMO would be pathetic for negative clerics to in controlling undead, but meh) that would be cool.

The reason this came up is we play in a small group and i took negative energy so when we need 'extra muscle' we can dig up the controlled lackeys i have to help fill the gap between missing pcs. But honestly if not, having possitve energy and not having to memorize blasted cure spells for our gnome monk that runs into combat thinking he's a tank would probably be just as usefull.

just asking for some feedback, thanks.

You can control a number of undead equal to 2x your hit dice. These stay under your control until they are destroyed or another cleric does a control attempt on them.

The easiest way I've found to handle people who have trouble reading is to have them read the section in question out loud.

As The Black Hand stated, any cleric, using negative or positive energy, can control indefenitely or until time of destruction/change in control a number of undead equal to 2x said cleric's hit dice. However an evel(negative energy) cleric is morre likely to do so than a good cleric. If the DM doesn't understand that you CAN have undead for an unlimited ammount of time, just read aloud word-for-word the passage in the Player's Handbook. It should clear a bit up.

Glad you clarified it to the point of saying Cleric's hit dice. I should been more specific.

Ah yes, nothing quite like the feeling of publicly belittling a person and publicly displaying that you are right and he is wrong at the same time.

I don't think that is what the other posted really had in mind.

I know sometimes when I read something to myself and I do not understand it, I find reading it out load to be very helpful.
