#1 karthasian Dec 01, 2011 14:23:27	Hello,  I'm new to this whole genre of role-playing games. I know DND has been around for quite some time, but I'm just now growing interest in it. I WANT to get involved but i dont know where people are that play this game. Or where to find them.  I know I've heard of people using VENTRILLO to play, and i'd like to do that, seeing as i live about 40 miles from a major city  (Kansas City, MO).   Where do i find people that play this? How do i know where to start?  I've tried following the "Beginners Guide" but I'm so distracted by the different  books and blah blah blah!.. someone please end this madness and make this make sense to me.  Lol. Already created my character or something its a lv 1 drow vampire cleric hybrid.
#2 kare Dec 01, 2011 15:11:17	Hey, Well, as a starting point you might wish to try contacting one of these groups, or searching on 'roleplaying' or similar: dungeons-and-dragons.meetup.com/cities/u... PS: I'd steer away from hybrid characters, especially at first (they're complex). See if you can get behind a cleric with the multiclass vampire feat, or a vampire with the multiclass cleric feat. Also, be aware, the vampire class may sound awesome, but it's comparatively weak, and you can get a lot of the flavour out of the multiclass feat. Yours, JMH

Already created my character or something its a lv 1 drow vampire cleric hybrid. Welcome to D&D!  Not sure which direction you live from Kansas City, but there's a couple of games in town. The KC area D&D Meetup group plays every Saturday at the KC Public Library on Main (downtown).  From the entrance, go straight back and turn right when you can't go any further.   There's always a 1E game going with 3-8 players.  For 4th edition, there's usually 1 or 2 games running at a time.  I'm running a 4E game this Saturday, but only have a few sessions left before I have to take a hiatus.  One of the palyers will be starting up a new campaign shortly thereafter. Also- there was a Dark Sun game based in Lawrence- not sure if it's still going or not.  Post a greeting to the Meetup and see who responds.
