Have you ever heard a song, saw a movie trailer, or read a short blurb, and then absolutely definately wanted to play some idea that arose from it?

(I'm not talking copying main characters; but just a flash of inspiration and then you can't get it out of your head and are reminded whenever you see/hear the song/trailer/blurb)

I just listened to this (5 times in a row): www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKZd4U397M4&feat...

Now I want to play a beserking vikinglike fighter with an axe and the Eternal Seeker destiny :/

I dearly want to recreate Inglourious Basterds as a Githzerai rrakma, enacting a campaign of guerilla terror against the Illithid.  I haven't even seen it yet (tonight I do!), and I know that this is a thing which I need.

Of course, Ensiferum is folk metal and therefore wins, plus the music is very inspiring.

Viking culture is awesome, I'm working on a campaign called 'Nordland.'  People, listen to Viking Metal and Folk Metal, get inspired!

The character that I've built and so dearly want to play is my dear Dr. Thoreau. He's a Deva Artificer. I based him on Dr. Who.

Immortal...he dies....he reincarnates as a similar being. He's got lots of gadgets and tons of intellect and knowledge skills. Though making him speak every language is a bit of a feat sinkhole, but that's what comprehend language is for right? And his progression goes Academy Master to Sage of the Ages. With an arcana skill in the 40-50s. He actually has more Arcana skill than the demon that sells arcana secrets to the mortals for their souls in the Eberron setting.

well, if you could find a GM willing to allow warforged in Oriental Adventures, Miku wouldn't be entirely out of place.

only about 99% Tongue out . but yeah, now i want to make a warforged bard.Laughing

i've built a few "test" warforged as the evil robot masters from MegaMan 2. airman is especially awesome.

And for some reason this thread has me thinking about Watchmen.

Rorscach - Urban Ranger / Rogue
Nite Owl - Artificer
Silk Spectre - Monk
Dr. Manhattan - Psion
Comedian - Fighter
Ozymandias - Bard?

All human (although Dr. Manhattan could arguably be Aasimar).

Not D&D, but in a Call of Cthulu game I created a Doctor named John Dorian.

All the freaky stuff that happened in the game, he thought the Janitor was behind it.

Thok, half-orc barbarian based off of my favorite NPC in the Order of the Stick, made his first appearance last Sunday.  A character I've been meaning to play for a while.  What's better is the party allowed Thok to take the role of party face without realising.  One of the other players remarked on this: 'Wait, now I know Thok shouldn't be the one talking to everybody.  He's a moron who knows little more than grunts and curses.  But I can't help but be curious about what's gonna happen.'

I have this desire to play a human bard, wearing a black suit, fedora, and sunglasses. My character concept has him mentally damaged, so he can only talk in blues brothers movie quotes (exception: We're on a mission from Pelor), and all his songs are blues brothers songs, his instrument of course a harmonica...it's a 50/50 on whether dm's near me let folks break 4th wall like this.

My current favorite charrie is Warren the Warforged Warden. He's a warforged warden who's weapon is Warrigal the Warsoul Waraxe, and he wears Warsheath Warplate :D. Also, my 6 year old cousin accidentally knocked a glass of water onto his first character sheet, so now I can say he weathered being warped by water.
