People that decide to live on the fringes of wild territory don't usually do so without a good reason. A gold mine perhaps? Maybe it's the crossroads of some major thoroughfares. Or maybe even a strategic placement of troops or a way to control a strategic portion of land. Of course after the village starts to thrive a bit, enter threats... Good luck. |
