i want to play in a game as a
blade elf(race)/runic blade(class)
but my dm says that since it doesnot say that the blade elf is of elven blood
than i cant be a runic blade

i say that it doesnt have to say that becouse a blade elf is an pure bloodedelf
becase it doesnt say Half or is fused with an animal template( like halfdragon or a feline varent

please tel me which is right

is a blade elf unable to become a runicblade(an elven blood only class) becase it has BLADE infront of elf

or can it become one because it doesnt have an animal template or is a HALF-blade elf

can an experenced DM/Player help settle this aregument

What book is the Blade Elf from?

I presume they're Humanoids? What's their subtype?

The unfortunate elves so traded were mostly good-aligned pre-drow Ssri-Tel'Quessir....

...The blade elves have evolved into a race of elven/aasimar/tiefling's which breed true amoung themselves and with elven mates....

...Closely related to modern drow in that they are also descended from the same pre-drow sub-race blade elves share their drow cousins dark appearance...

...As a result of their fiendish blood, blade elves have sharply pointed teeth, retractable claws on their hands and feet, and never cast shadows in any sort of light.

The Blade Elfs are actually descended from the Drow sub-Race of Elfs. Since then they have continued to "evolve" and in close association with Aasimar and Tieflings they are in fact not pure blooded elfs, but are more like Half Drow/Half Fiend.

So the long and short of it is, the Blade Elf is not a pure blooded Elf.

They do however have Elfen Blood in them, so much depends on if Runic Blade requires you to be Pure Blooded or if simply having Half Elf would be enough. It would be your DM's call, if you show him this information, as to weather being distantly related to Drow would constitute having enough blood to be considered Half Elf for the purposes of the Class requirements and of course if Drow would meet those requirements.

Seems to me like his DM already ruled.

This kind of thing is happening a lot more these days.

Yes, I can see why the DM has ruled this, they are elves with 'something extra' so maybe don't count as elves at all. If they are demonic enough to have claws and fangs, there can't be much elf left in there, less even than a half-elf.

Your DM has ruled, roll with it is my advice.
