| #1srikaliJul 26, 2008 9:53:52 | In this thread I want to hear all about times when you role played your alignment so perfectly, the entire game was stunned in astonishment/horror. Some examples Lawful Good: You refuse to bow down to an evil entity when the DM fully expects you to, if only to save your own skin. Neutral Good: Instead of fighting a massive battle, you manage to pull off a massive evacuation of the city comparable to Dunkirk Chaotic Good: I got nothing... Lawful Neutral: Instead of finishing off the BBEG who wronged you/killed your friends/anything like the DM expects of you, you take him to the nearest large city to face judgement. True Neutral: If you can find a way to make true neutral sound awesome than by all means do. NOT CHAOTIC STUPID: You do something legitamately clever and or crafty. You come up with an absurd plan to infiltrate a palace that actually works. Lawful Evil: I don't know about this one. Neutral Evil: Same Chaotic Evil: You do something unexpected and terrifyingly evil on a whim. I actualy have a story for this one. I was the group's CN Rogue, and the rest of the group was a mixture of evils and neutrals. My friend, lets call him "Dave" was a CE Cleric of Nerul. The DM was trying to pitch a side quest to my character in the form of a crying woman and her young daughter (DM said about 10 I think.) begging for money or shelter, but they had nothing to give in return so I decided against it. So Dave suprises us all by saying "I think I'll give them some money." We all look at him strange, waiting for the catch, until he says (in a less censored manner) "I'll do it for a `favor` from her daughter. Of course the lady refused. To make a long story short Dave ended up kidnapping, ransoming, and eventually killing (and worse) the young girl. Needless to say, we all make sure to keep one eye on Dave at all times now. |
| #2deviknyteJul 26, 2008 10:00:08 | I posted this in Heroic Deaths as well but.... I'm playing with a party of five. Started off LE Wiz, LG Cleric, CN Figher, CG Ranger, and CG Elven Cleric (me). Now the party started off at odds with the wizard until the cleric went evil after being tainted by an artifact. I get infected with some disease. The group than subjugates some desert village and starts building an evil army. Now the Ranger tries to take on the three and gets captured while the evil members were having my health taken care of by the villagers. The evil god the cleric now worships tells of a pact of blood which would bind the party's souls and made them harder to kill mechanically. The bind slowly mixes the parties alignments together and the ranger's evil before I'm back in action. I wake up and see the party is a completely evil cult now and I just leave, avioding the fight. The cleric and wizard waste a wand of hold person on me (I made a lot of saves) and they bind me after capturing me. The evil god tells me I'll be just like them in a few days and that our fates and lives and destinies are bond to one. I ask the god how the pact works. The pact made it so that if one of us dropped they we could give him HP and if one of us died the rest of us could save for it and stuff like that. So I Coup de Grace myself on the spot choosing to fail the save and we all go down. The party was :censor:! Except the ranger who thought it was funny. |
| #3thubbyJul 26, 2008 16:49:57 | we were in a fight with the bbeg, before we were suppose to kill him, he had some kind of ability to reflect spells (using spell resistance). we're trapped in an alley, so my CN wizard turns around and casts a (i think its called concussive) shout spell on him. it, naturally, gets reflected and turns on us, destroying the blocking wall and hurling the whole party 30 ft away and out of his reach. crazy, random, and life saving :D |

| #5doomsoughtJul 27, 2008 15:21:48 | CE-We had a prisoner and needed to interrogate him. So I found a random gnome in the street and brought it in. I picked it up, and held it over the prisoner. I ripped the gnome in half. I got the answer reel quick, the prisoner knew nothing, so I had him executed. |
| #6minesrilJul 28, 2008 2:36:03 | CG sorcerer. We had just saved quite a large group of villagers in a snowy, stormy environment and I did rope trick to put them somewhere safe short-term while we figured out where to take them. I wasn't sure if you could move the rope and the people inside would be OK (I didn't know this in or out of character. Does anyone?). So I decided to try it anyway, the DM said the people were OK, and I said, 'Oh thank god that worked!' Whereupon someone said, 'that was very chaotic!' |
| #7horatioJul 28, 2008 10:09:21 | LE Wizard/Shadow Adept I was once persuaded a NPC paladin to break the city law (entrance to a noble's estate is forbidden without a permission from the owner or a legal authority) to save a child held as a hostage (and help me in the process, I needed that child's blood as a spell component) and than press the charges against him for breaking the law, which allowed me to get the child. THAN I persuaded the paladin (he didn't know I was the one who turned him to authorities) that escaping the authorities is the right thing to do (surely they had to be corrupted, for they arrested him because he rescued a child...) which was the first step of turning him into a blackguard a couple of sessions later (and it really scared me how much I enjoyed to play an evil mastermind...) |
| #8hazard84Jul 29, 2008 11:17:00 | Is from another system without alignments, but I would say my character there was neutral good. We found a young girl, who was falsely persecuted as a witch. We hid her in our wagon. Short time later, we met the inquisitor, a priest of the god of law and truth. Inq.: "Have you seen a young girl, she looks like *describes* " Me: "Yes, she is in our wagon. We will hand her over, but we would prefer if she could stay with us until we reach your camp." Other players (IC, whispering): "What? Why did you tell him." Me: "He is a priest of *God of Truth*. If I had lied to him, he would know. Maybe we can help the girl if the inquisitor trust us." That happens, if the superstitious ratcatcher becomes the party spokesman :D |
