(I am a sandshaper) pretty much I have built 50ft tall 5ft thick walls of stone around the area where my city will be. But as we all know no matter how tall a wall is thieves will find a way over, under, through or someother bullshit. I am currently building a vault underground to store magical artifacts and the cities gold but I need help coming up with ways of warding it from thieves. Loyal gaurds will not be a problem as I have the leadership feat but I would like something more clever and less visable. Also I still need to be able to get in there myself from time to time. |

If he's any good, he'll be okay with that. Unless you really are interested in trying to figure out ways to beat your DM, in which case, good luck. I'm sure 3.X edition has plenty of options for spells and whatnot you can pay an NPC to cast for you. |

Store a small amount (say 1%) of the loot there, but use an illusion to make it look like more if it observed. In a separate part of the city, in a run down, nondescript shed, store the rest of the loot with some sort of illusion to make it look like a mound of sand or rubble (of course you would cast all the protection spells you can think of on it) and have tonnes of guards (but they are illusion altered to look like commoners just rooting around in sand and muck). Might be a touch evil, but when the construction and casting is done have all those who helped in the real construction whacked (and a few of those on the fake too to "sell it" more convincingly). Just my 2c |

Pits that lead into an abyss, walls that crumble if scaled without your permission, if you can't prevent theives from taking it see if you can "bug" the fortune magically. Maybe you can make a fine dust that only you can see where it leads. Maybe you can trigger the treasure room to collapse into many tons of sand if it's disturbed. What are some of your abilities as a sand shaper? |

Sandshaper abilities were a little vague in some area's but mostly they can shape sand into any object they can imagine, the downside is that it desolves after 10 minutes per level so not too effective for building structures unless I use "sand to stone" to turn whatever I make into solid stone. Another character in our campaign is an effigy master and so can make essentially golems that look like and act like any creature up to her hit die. I was thinking she could make some nifty monsters to gaurd the treasure for me. Any cool ideas of monsters that are less than 10HD to gaurd the treasure? |
