#1 exi5tentialist Oct 05, 2008 23:16:08	My lvl. 9 Half-orc barbarian was killed tonight by a careless Psionic Player Character. I was reincarnated as a halfling, which really sucks! My goal is to kill this Psion. I need you guys help to become the best psion killer. I want to know which items I can get to protect me from psionic powers, what feats I can take to the same end, as well if their is any prestige classes I could aspire to . Basically anything that I could do with my character to insure when I confront this psionic dude, that I will not be defeated. I plan on waiting at least four or five levels before exacting my revenge,so I have 2 or 3 feats that will be available as well as lots of time to save up gold for magical items. Any advice would be nice. Thank you!!! BTW, my DM won't allow any non-WotC books, so keep that in mind.....
#2 kuonji Oct 06, 2008 2:51:46	My advice: If you really despise being a halfling, work with your DM to come up with a way to restore yourself to your half-orc goodness. Perhaps some kind of quest for a lost location or rare potion ingrediants. If the other player intentionally killed off your character, I'd suggest an out of game discussion with the rest of the players and DM about what direction the game is taking. You might point out that if the group is supposed to work together as a team, killing each other off probably isn't going to further that goal. If the death of your character was an accident (mistaken placement of a power, poor tactics or whatnot) then I'd suggest just letting it go. Let your fellow player know that you don't appreciate the carelessness of their actions and ask them to be more careful in the future. Finally, I'd advise leaving the game before becoming "that guy" and intentionally disrupting the game by killing off another PC. Unless the game is about the party trying to kill each other off, all you will accomplish by killing off the other character is setting up a cycle where the party preys on itself.

#4 entropy_judge Oct 06, 2008 5:46:45	I second the notion that you should talk to the DM (about being a halfling) and the Player in question (about poor spell placement - you did say, after all that it was a careless Psionic PC, which makes it seem as though what happened was accidental, and you are merely so obsessive over your own character that nothing matters except vengeance over a mere accident in a fantasy game ...) before doing anything rash. That said: Basically anything that I could do with my character to insure when I confront this psionic dude, that I will not be defeated. Druid 20 or Wizard 20.
#5 exi5tentialist Oct 06, 2008 6:54:16	If you guys don't know any cool +5 against psion weapons you can just say so....really though it is more of thing of justice with my character, I doubt these plans will ever come into fruition before I am stopped by other party members. I am sure they will catch on when I buy that anti-psionics helmet, or weapon or when my character says something stupid when he is drunk. If it did come to it, it would be a duel, not me just sneaking up on him and killing him while hes sleeping....I would make him aware that my character thinks that it is only the only just and honorable thing for my character to do. So please just give me advice on how to become a psion killer, not what path to take my character.....

Unfortunately, you really hurt your chances of actually getting any real help on this topic when you stated that you were going to turn it PvP. The majority of the posters here do not condone PvP in any form unless it is agreed upon prior to play, which does not seem to be the case here. Your character was accidentally killed, so you seem determined to go and ruin someone else's fun, and very few people here will help you in that. That you *know* you're going up against the group's will - and that you seem to plan on letting the target know, but not even trying to resolve it OOC really kills your other chances. Finally, we know exactly one thing about your character: it's an 8th level halfling barbarian. We don't know build, we don't know stats, we don't know current equipment. You seem to want "Generic Psion-Killing Build XXX," which is EASILY searchable, both on this forum and on the Char-Ops board. To put it bluntly: THE INFORMATION IS ALREADY OUT THERE. GO LOOK FOR IT YOURSELF.
