I'd also LOVE the ability to shift my enemies around the battlefield (we are playing in an airship-based campaign, and I like the idea of "shifting" my opponents off the ship...). Any ideas? Thanks! |

| #3sventheblowfishJan 09, 2013 13:35:13 | Would you ever recommend a hybrid between two of those classes? This is my first go at creating something of a "mixture" of two classes, so I feel sort of blind. |
| #4CentauriJan 09, 2013 14:00:43 | Would you ever recommend a hybrid between two of those classes? I don't care for hybrids, but from what I could tell, it would have made my wizard/rogue idea work just as well, and probably better. Optimization doesn't interest me. |

| #6ChainsawhandJan 09, 2013 15:27:32 | Stormraider theme in Dragon#408 has some nice mobility power swaps and a push encounter power, flavor wise it seems to fit with what you're doing and gives you defenses against anybody else trying to knock you overboard Cunning Bards can slide allies, and Staggering Note is a ranged push/attack enabler and bard has plenty weapon attacks too. Also something like Blunder would let you slide them off the deck or on to the end of your sword. They just have a lot of options for movement of both enemies and allies, but they certainly aren't the only class with powers like that, they just seem the most swashbucklery to me. |
| #7MatyrJan 10, 2013 2:13:02 | I second the idea of a bard. Or if you want you can do a Swordmage of some kind, teleporting the enemies around. You can pretty easily make that guy a "swashbuckler" with his 1h sword and no OH. Or you could do some sort of slide build. Anything with a slide and Lashing Flail + Staggering Weapon + Dragging Flail and the like can really knock people about. Just matters how much of your resources you want to devote to it. |
| #8Neutronium_DragonJan 10, 2013 3:46:01 | If it absolutely MUST be arcane... Bard, Hexblade, and Swordmage are the most likely candidates. The standard Warlock could also work. I suppose that the Bladesinger might be an option in theory, but with the knots you have to tie the character in to make that class work, I wouldn't bother. |
| #9svendjJan 11, 2013 7:44:31 | Bladesinger is actually by far the easiest way of making this happen. Str primary, Dex secondary, take Unseen Hand as one of your Bladespells, done! Just don't fall into WotC's trap by making it a Dex/Int class. Ignore Int, and just take powers that have a good Effect (like Charm of Misplaced Wrath). |
