| #1vidicDec 31, 2009 6:18:57 | As an Avenger I can choose to align myself with The Raven Queen (Unaligned) seeing as how The Raven Queen is a diety of the Death Domain. Would it not reason out that instead of my Avenger powers doing Radiant damage that they would do Necrotic damage? Any help would be appreciated. |

Just keep in mind that Radiant is a better type to have as a player (you'll have a hard time with undead if all your powers deal Necrotic damage) and that Radiant is as much 'good' energy as nuclear fallout. It's just 'Divinely powered', and since the Raven Queen is a Deity, she's still a Divine being. I would advise against changing all of them to Necrotic since it's just too easy to resist for monsters, although I can see how some of your signature powers deal Necrotic damage (or maybe half of them? To match the Raven Queen's way of standing between life and death?) for the flavor of it. Anyway; take it up with your DM; good luck. |
| #3vidicDec 31, 2009 6:54:51 | You give a very good argument. As you pointed out, since The Raven Queen is a divine being it would still be Radiant damage which to me makes perfect sense and would mechanic wise definitely would be better than trying to take on an undead horde with necrotic damage. Thanks for the help. Case closed, Mystery solved. |

| #5vidicDec 31, 2009 15:18:24 | That was my train of thought exactly and I'd have to agree a little reflavoring would definitely not go a miss.. |
| #6dirtyfrankDec 31, 2009 20:01:31 | It does seem like ya got things figured out and I'll have to agree that it would probably be best to stick with radiant and just reflavor it to be more Raven Queenyish in look. |
| #7bone_nagaJan 05, 2010 19:23:48 | I would recomend sticking with simple reflavoring as others have described, but as a DM if a player really wanted necrotic damage and was able to justify it, I'd allow the power keywords to change. If anything, necrotic is probably less optimal than radiant, although in most cases one damage type is not significantly better than another. |

This make's divine classes dedicated to her (and especially avengers) likely to be undead hunters. Necrotic is actually the worst element for an undead hunter to have, as many undead have a servere resist to it, while they have a server weakness to radiant. So, their radiant is likely more of a snow-white or cold blue colour, while the character itself is likely armoured in black or other dark colours. Visually, this also prevents your character from being all black/dark. |
