Hey everyone. I'm extremely interested in getting back into D&D. I haven't played for at least 10 years and prior to that I played regularly for about 3. If anyone knows of any way I could play with a group online or has any advice in getting back into the game, please let me know. There aren't any hobby shops in my area worth checking out and as far as I know D&D has pretty much died out here. Any and all advice will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

First of all, welcome back!

A lot has changed since you've been gone, and it's poised to change again very, very soon. D&D 4th Edition is set to be released in June (?), and from what I've read on the subject it sounds like a great upgrade.

If you're looking to get back in now, grab a (used) copy of the Player's Handbook from Amazon.com and read up. Once you've done that, there's a play-by-post forum on these boards somewhere, but I generally play at Myth Weavers.

OPENRPG is also good, if you want a chat / dice based game.

or Wizards chatrooms.

Search the web for clubs in your area, and look in local libraries and the like - put up a card if can, and see what happens. Also try here:
