| #1kingcowApr 14, 2009 8:11:40 | Our group is level 9, a diplomat bard, a druid, a dex fighter, a 7 ninja/2 shadowsmith, and myself (a 6 monk/3 Fist of the Forest). Regardless of story, we just happened upon a rogue eidolon in clearing, and since our characters had no idea what it was, we approached it, with my monk leading the way. It sprayed me with "Blood Spray," and I failed my will save, resulting in a murderous frenzy for 13 rounds (result of 3d6). I'm currently the best fighter of the group (though our fighter makes a *decent* evasive tank). I am on the verge of murdering an NPC, which will cost me my exalted status for a bit, and I could very easily kill a number of our party before they could put me down (28 AC, 75 HP). Could anyone help with ideas on how to approach the situation? I'm definitely stuck on how to get myself out alive without killing anyone. Counters to the creature, the failed will save, or myself would be very welcome. Edit: Oh, this is all 3.5 Edition, by the way. |

I just opened the MM2 to take a look at its stats (they've probably changed in the 3.5 conversion) and its blood spray attack is quite dangerous, considering it has a relatively low DC to save. I would suggest grappling, but given your AC, I find that rather unlikely at this point. I would have the bard use his bardic music to try and fascinate you into staying put and quiet while the fighter gets some bonus to Use Rope or some other trick designed to restrain you. The other avenue is the druid casting entangle to slow you down in your murderous spree. Barring that, he can summon wave after wave of animals for you to slaughter until the effect wears off. |

That's the dream. Too bad you don't have proper Str/Con bonuses. They might just have to put you down. If they are unable and you kill a couple of them that that's their own fault for having the monk as front line fighter. Roll up new characters. |

After a couple of rounds, maybe the Druid can wildshape to escape via air or burrowing. |

I like the idea though of the druid holding the line, do that if all else fails. I'd recommend having him fly away. Wait, did he take natural spell? If so, have him wildshape into a bird, summon several rounds of animals, then just fly and watch the monk. If he heads for anyone, let them know and distract him with another summon. |

I just wrote up some jazz for the XDMC featuring a pair of these suckers that thought they were the same god... hehe *meniacal laughter* But actually... no idea of how to help you. GL You could always spontaneously bring in Warhammer 40k pantheon, go insane and pledge yourself to Korn, the blood god, not the band, and make the eidolons affect a permanant change... other than that, i've got nothing off the top of my head.... O wait, if you've got a portable hole, jump into it and have your friends close the lid until you pass out, then they open it, revive you with some heal checks for curing asphixiation, and you're good to go. If you have a portable hole that is... |
