Jun 09, 2013 15:07:38 When a druid with the Shapeshift alternate class feature changes its shape through one of the new found class abilities, does it take the form of the creature it changes into? For example, a shapeshift druid uses Predator Form to shape shift into a panther, would it then be accurate to say that it has taken the form of a panther?

Would changing shape in this manner be similar to polymorph, where you look and feel like the creature you shifted into, or are you changing shape in some new completely different way?

That's 3.5... If I remember right, Shapeshift was something you could take instead of Wild Shape and an animal companion, turning into a non-specific stat-block rather than an individual animal.
Google turns up an old optimization thread HERE...

It doesn't specifically say it's a polymorph effect, but I would assume it functions as one.

That's completely unrelated. It seems they're talking about the PHB2 Shapeshift Druid variant.
