| #1thenintyplayerMar 29, 2015 20:30:10 | I didn't see any other place to post this. Hello, this is my simple glass cannon build. It is a modification of the Sorclock idea that has been going around. What you need: CHA 13+, DEX 13+ Levels: 2 Warlock (Important things: Eldritch Blast, Agonizing Blast) 2 Fighter (For Action Surge) 16 Sorcerer (Origin: Draconic, Metamagic: Quickened) HP: Settles around 100. Race: Half-Elf is best for this role. As a Draconic Bloodline sorcerer, you essentially have mage armor for free, so there is really no need for armor unless something good comes your way, and as a fighter you have access to whatever armor or weapons you need. At level 16, you have 8 possible casts of Quicken. It's important to keep track of that number. With Quicken, you can turn one casting of Eldritch Blast into a bonus action. At level 20, this allows for a maximum possible turn damage of 8d10+modifiers, flat. However, each blast in Edlritch Blast is its own attack roll and modifiers apply to the attacks individually. So, you're hitting with 8d10+8*modifier. With Agonizing, your blasts each gain your CHA modifier, so you'll be hitting with: 8d10 + (16*CHA+8*Proficiency mod). Assuming 18 CHA, you will be hitting for a maximum damage of 192 per round at the cost of 2 sorcery points per round. However, with the addition of Action Surge, you now have the option to deal an additional cast of Eldritch Blast, for a maximum output of 288 damage in a single round! And that's even assuming you never make use of Hex. If you do, you can add 1d6 for ever d10 of damage for a maximum additional damage of 48 per turn without Action Surge, and 72 additional damage with an action surge. Per long rest, you can deal a total maximum damage assuming 18 CHA of 1212 damage based on this strategy alone, without ever expending a single spell slot. With Hex, you can deal 1620 damage per long rest while only expending one or two first level spell slots. And at that level, you have access to all spells except 9th level spells. In addition, through Draconic Bloodline you have flight equal to your speed, so against melee creatures you should not have to worry about being hit.
Pros: High Damage, Flight, Natural Armor Cons: Low Health, Only Mid Range AC |
