| #1LanxMar 14, 2010 21:06:49 | little bit of a back story, our campaign is somewhat based off Terry Goodkinds the Sword of Truth series, with the main villain being Lord Raul and his D'haran army ect, He wants the book of Counted Shadows and by this point in the campaign we managed to obtain it, we figured the best way to stop him was to destroy the book. Now we had a Gold Dragon with us, and Dragons Breath can destroy magical items, but theres always side effects and we didn't want any harm to come to the dragon, given the dragon served the same god as our lawful good paladin (Pelor). so the Paladin gets this great idea to stick the book in a bag of holding and then stick it in another bag of holding.... now everyone (out of character) should know this opens a planar rift to the astral plane... in character I rolled a knowledge arcana to determine what the outcome of this would be and failed the roll (im a rogue), Paladin succeded but opted to not to inform me of that side effect and thus convinced me it was a good idea and that all there would be was a big explosion... out of character I was cringing... so we had the dragon fly the paladin up really high in the air, drop the book in the first bag, and then cast unseen servant and instructed it to jump off the dragon and halfway down put the first bag in the second bag... big bang... planar rift opens... undead **** EVERYWHERE now... Thoughts? can a Planar rift be closed? |

Your DM is making stuff up, in other words, so you'll have to make knowledge checks and stuff to see how his house rule works. |

My players have tried way too many shenanigans with Bags of Holding, including putting monsters in bags of holding, throwing bags of holding over people's heads and pulling, and filling bags of holding with Alchemist's Fire or Acid, and then dumping them on enemies. |

My favourite experience with one was filling it with Holy Water and later dumping the entire thing on an Aspect of Hextor. |

Not that bad, till someone said the skin used was the sphincter. So we then had the sphincter of holding that the DM had a random table he rolled on a random table to determine diffrent things it did. The bad farted once during a rather tense stealth game, and well hilarity insued. |
