Okay I don't know if it is possible but, how do I survive around a paladin as chaotic evil in D&D 3.5? Is there like a feat or an ability that counter-acts sense motive/detect evil?
Two of my friends are paladins and I really want to play an evil character without me having to kill them or vice-versa. I am kind of new to D&D so I haven't been able to find anything to help.

Don't.  Just don't.  It's not worth the effort, eventually you'll be found out.

So nothing to do about it then?

Not that's worth it.

Well can you suggest a good arcane caster that can do a **** ton of damage? If I can't be an evil knight I'd like to be a bad ass caster. Like the race/class combo?

My knowledge of 3.5 is limited but Elf Wizard seems like a good enough combination. Your're a wizard so you can well, blast stuff to kingdom come or just SoD/SoS them.

If you must be an Elf, be a Sun Elf if possible; you get an INT bonus.  The 'standard' Elf's constitution penalty bites when you only have d4 hit points per level.  If you can't use subraces, be a Dwarf, so you get a Constitution bonus.

Well through hours of contemplation, (for it is summer and I have that stupid amount of time to think before heading back to college) I have decided to make a Sorcerer and right now I'm building it around human but I'll have to look into that Sun elf. I am having a hard time with figuring out what feats I want though (we are lvl 6 and I have: Spell Focus (Necro), Greater Spell Focus (Necro), and Improved Initiative just because I couldn't think of a helpful third feat, which I'm ignoring the fourth feat i get for now). Oh and I hate metamagic :/.

Imoproved init is great. Combat in 3.5 is often 1 round long, and going first can mean your opponents don't get to act.

Your build should be sorcerer5/prestige class (Anything) 15. Sorcerer doesn't grant a whole lot, and so as long as you get full casting from your prestige class its worth it.

Learn to love metamagic. Its awesome and great for casters. (not worth it for a sorcerer unless you take PHB2 variant {IIRC} that grants normal metamagic if you ditch your familiar)

Don't play a sun elf sorcerer. They don't get cha bonuses. Human is a fine choice, but any LA+0 race with a + to Charisma is probably better.

With those feats, you should consider looking at the nightmare spinner prestige from complete mage. (IRC) it is very solid and grants full casting. You might even meet the prereqs for it already.

Also, just to be clear. Dont learn magic missile or fireball. They are traps, especially for sorcerers.

A first level tatooed monk can get the white mask tatoo which grants immunity to detect thoughts, detect lies and any attempt to magically discern alignment. The class is in complete warrior. Hope this helps!

You want the warmage.  I believe they were in complete arcane.

Their casting is based off Charisma, but they also get bonus dmg to their spells based on their Int. so try to get both high.

Don't play a sorcerer, though.  When the PHB first came out, the authors believed that spontaneous casting was very powerful, therefore, sorcerers get no class features.  Since then, they realized their mistake and began churning out other spontaneous casting classes to take up the sorcerers role.  Warmage is the newer, more balanced "boom-sorcerer."

Who generally is considered less powerful overall, and I'd even argue a less effective blaster.

Dont play a warmage. Especially not with your feat selection.

Only been playing a game a week for like 2 months and i've lost 4 characters but none of them had been multiclass :/ so no clue how to do that however the DM is awesome about the deaths and my newness so ill ask him about prestige classes thanks

Prestige classes are found in the Dungeon masters guide and in most of the supplimental books. Generally it works similar to multiclassing but often times you can find some that advance your sorcerers casting as though they were the sorcerer class.

Typically a prestige class is 5 or 10 levels long, and a much narrower concept than a class. Barbarian is a pretty broad class, you get mad and hulk out. Bear Warrior is fairly narrow. You get mad, hulk out and turn into a bear. Bear warrior is a prestige class for barbarians and if you like the idea of turning into a bear your character should try to take this instead of normal barbarian levels.

Sorcerer is a class. Elemental savant is a prestige class. A sorcerer is a "dude who casts arcane spells due to his innately magical blood" an elemental savant is a "dude who casts fire spells due to his innate connection to fire". A fire mage is too broad a concept for an entire 20 level class, but it might work for a prestige class (5-10 levels long).

What edition are you playing?  You're asking questions here that say you're playing 3e, but at the same time you're asking questions on the 4e General and Optimization boards.

That question was misplaced and I asked it in the right place just don't know how to delete the old thread.

The OPer didn't ask for the most powerful arcane caster, they asked for someone who could do a "****ton of damage."
The warmage does that by throwing d6s at enemies in every possible shape or element.  It's a much better blaster than the sorcerer.
The problem here is that blasters are a waste of arcane magic.

To be truly effective as an arcane caster, the OPer should be playing a wizard.  But that's not what they asked for.

And of course the feats would have to be changed.  That should go without saying, who picks their feats before picking their class?

So, back to the OP, if you want to be truly effective at arcane casting, be a wizard.  They are simply the best.
If you want to throw d6s at people, be a warmage.  They can do it in every way under the sun.  (And since you are a newer player, you won't be punished by picking a bad spell or two, your list, as ineffective as it is compared to arcane as a whole, is already chosen for you.)

Chaotic evil does not mean killing your teammates and everything else.  Paladins aren't forced into killing anything they don't want to.  You are mixing stupid evil with chaotic evil.  If your paladins are really trying to kill you for your alignment, that's called lawful stupid.  There is a difference.
Explain your situation to the players(not the characters), and work something out.

However, since you are new, I'm thinking you are focusing too much on alignment.  Call yourself chaotic neutral.  Then ask your gm to watch what your character does.  He can tell you your proper alignment after a few games.

As I said in the bit you quoted. I'd argue a sorcerer is better at it.

How manys do you need to throw 10d6 at something if you can only do it 8 times a day regardless. A sorcerer can do it one or two ways and have some other handy stuff (and if he really really cares he can have 156). A warmage can do it 15 ways and do no other handy stuff.  A sorcerers's handy stuff makes his blasting more effective because he is hard to find, hard to kill, or slipping past defenses, a warmage won't get handy stuff. The sorcerer wins.

This isn't the optimization forums.  You need to go post there.

However, don't forget you need some attack spells.

Great level 1 spells. Sleep, Color Spray. Based on your feats, cause fear and ray of enfeeblement will also be very helpful.

Ray of enfeeblement looks like it is for blasting at Str 25 ogres. Really, its for enemy mages with 9 str. Drop it as low as possible, to the point where they can't even move. Good to blast rogues too.
