Jun 05, 2009 18:54:14 My group is all about having fun(much to the chagrin of our DM). So I've decided to run a Bard/Rogue hybrid and I'm looking for songs to sing when performing an action. If I use "Fast Friends" then I might sing the theme from Friends. "War song strike" would probably have me belting out "war...good God, what is it good for?" Yes, it will become very annoying, and yes, my DM is gonna flip out since he already gets ****** by our usual banter...so this might be a short campaign. If the song title fits give me the artist too...and if there's a song where the title doesn't match but there's a lyric from it that does then give me the words along with the song and artist. I listen to oldies, 80's, metal, alternative, techno...so I'd probably know songs from those genre's more than others.

Jun 06, 2009 2:38:55 For fun i rolled a cunning tiefling bard and named him 'Vaucher the Mocker', and really didnt sing anything. Just constantly insulted the mobs. Vicious Mockery was my signature ability

Boy was he an arse.

Jun 07, 2009 2:13:12 I'm not looking for music that sounds bardic. I'm looking for songs that match the name or description of powers. Example...there's a power called Synchronicity, so if I were to use that power I would sing the Police songs Synchronicity or Synchronicity 2. Or if I was helping with a skill challenge and we were making an athletics check to jump...I might sing Jump Around by house of pain or Jump by van halen. I do plan on making up some songs as the need arises too...but the verses for those might tend to be a bit on the old chaotic evil side.

Jun 07, 2009 2:22:15 I'm not really big on anachronisms because they encourage other OOC action. Really bad puns are okay, I guess... not that I enjoy puns at ALL but at least there's a "channelling Terry Pratchett/Monty Python" aspect to that.

Anyway, at the risk of messing up my own mojo...

When a character stands back up... "Tubthumpers" (the I GET KNOCKED DOWN AND I GET UP AGAIN song). Perhaps for a standard taunting song you could try Wesley Willis' "Cut That Mullet".

If another PC summons wolves you could perhaps sing "Who Let The Dogs Out" (and if I was a PC in your group, I would reach over and tear your character sheet up right then and there). Fortunately I can't think of a single DnD use for "Mambo Number 5".

Aqua Teen Hunger Force had that Foreigner Belt episode that you could probably take a few songs from. That would probably cause fewer people to smack you then singing the Baja Men.

Jun 07, 2009 6:38:04 In our current adventure, my roommate had a human rogue named Cotter. Cotter would sneak off, and do his rogue thing, and always enjoyed being "welcomed back" when he returned. Even said so on his character sheet. So i downloaded the theme song to the show and would play it whenever he returned to the party. Pretty awesome.

Jun 09, 2009 13:17:38 Try Blind Guardian; they make fantasy metal and all their tracks are about elves, dragons, swords, and slaying things.

Also; Dragonforce, if you are the type of person to blow stuff up. All their tracks are about fire and flames :P

You might also want to check Rhapsody; might draw some inspiration. They make the cheesiest music videos. It's so bad, it's totally awesome. Plus their songs are also about swords and wars and magic and stuff.

For when you kill somebody: "Don't Fear the Reaper" (note this can also be used with the level 22 spell that revives an ally that just died.

I'll second "Alive" by Pearl Jam for when you heal yourself.

For when you use Traveller's Chant: "Rambling Man" or "I Can't Drive 55"

For use with Slayer's Song: anything by Slayer. :P

When you use Fast Friends: "How do You Like Me Now?"

I use different parts of the lyrics for various shout spells.
"Kick my heels up and
(Shout) Throw my hands up and
(Shout) Throw my head back and
(Shout) Come on now"

You can also use Shout by Tears for Fears: "Shout, shout, let it all out. These are the things I can do without. C'mon ..." :P

Thunder Blade: "thunder ... thunder ... THUNDER ... THUNDERCATS HO!!!!! lolol

Use some of Seinfeld's jokes for any of the satire spells, but altered to suit the themes of D&D.
