'Hoy, looking for a way to circumvent the 100 gp/page rule and/or the 24 hour rule concerning copying spells from scrolls to a Wizard's spellbook. 3.5e, please.

Ideas?

The Blessed Book, yeah. Scribing things into it is free; you do have to pay 50gp*spell level to scribe a spell from another wizard's book, but there isn't really any geting around that (except for Chameleons).

Geometer (CArcane) 2 gives you the "Book of Geometry" class feature, which makes each spell only take up 1 page (with scribing cost adjusted appropriately). You still have to pay to copy'em in the first place, though.

Book of Geometry works fantastically with the Tattooed Spellbook option in the Complete Arcane, too.

Hm. If only we were starting with 10,000 more gp's or two more levels...

Thanks, though.

To be fair you didn't state what level you were for the ideas.......

No, didn't mean that as a slight, just a reflection.

I didn't state it because higher-level/gold ideas still interest me, just don't work with this situation.

If you are making a new character, you might consider asking your DM for, lets say, a d4-1 spells of each level you can cast already be scribed in your spell book. Not a bad way to start off with a random spell book setup.

As for money to add spells during the campaign, talk to your group about setting aside a portion of the money the group gets to go towards spells for your spell book. The more spells you have, the more beneficial you are to the group, no reason you should have to eat all the costs for upgrading a group resource.

As for the time issue, I'm not aware of anything that reduces it, but we didn't really paid attention to the restriction, so I had no real incentive to look all that hard for a way around it. You again might try talking with your DM and point out that, at least in my opinion, the fact that it takes the same amount of time to scribe a level 1 spell and a level 9 spell into a spell book is kind of silly.

Magic compendiums's tome of the stilled tongue works as boccob's but cheaper.

"Colleigate Wizard" the feat lets you get 4 spells per level free instead of the standard 2 spells
