How do you treat spellscars outside of the FR setting? I use the points of light setting and would like to make spellscars available for my players. I know I can, but I just wanted to see how it should be handled.

Since there is no spell plague in PoL setting, I was thinking of making it related to the astral sea or the elemental chaos (for the purpose of spellscared susceptibility and plague familiarity actually being useful by replacing plaugechanged/spellscared with immortal or demonic or whathaveyou.)

Any help would be appreciated!

This actually is a duplicate answer to the Dragonmark one:
Well, if I don't want to think something up I generally just have it as nothing more then like a normal Feat. The things Dragonmarks give are simply just something the PC developed.

Another common one is that Dragonmarks are something that those touched either during their life or in the womb by Far Realms, Flux Storms, etc (basically mutation/reality warping forces) gain. The mark may be invisible, or it may be quite apparent beyond a mark on the skin to the point of being some physical mutation.

One PC in particular in my current game may become a Spellscar because of the fact that he is a Flux scientist and Flux Storm chaser. As such he has plenty of exposure to it, and this will take the form of a Spellscar. Even his Arcane Familiar has been exposed and is the comic relief with all manner of odd mutations and abilities/effects happening to it (cat's name is Schrödinger :P)

Agreed. When my brother toyed with giving his wizard character a spellscar, we decided it would be because he survived a blast of magic from his epic-level master, when his master tried to kill him.
