Apr 28, 2011 17:08:27 I’m playing 3.5e and was wondering what the deal is with Rangers (and other classes like Paladins) getting magical spells at a delayed rate.

I really just want to confirm that Ranger spells like Alarm don’t become available until the player reaches level 6. I was just a little confused because the table in the player’s handbook (3-13: The Ranger) has “spells per day 0” at level 4. What is meant by 0 spells at level 4 when a dash – at level 1 must mean N/A? Is there a way for a Ranger to get a spell at level 4 if modifiers are high enough?

Apr 28, 2011 17:12:30 If your spellcasting attribute is high enough to give you bonus spells (see the chart at the front of the PHB), then you can add them to the zero entry to get actual spells to cast.
