Yes, much like the title says, I need some help. It appears that it befalls to me that I will be again the sole caster of the team(hooray!![?]!), its just that I am slightly baffles on some shugenja

1. Is it dishonorable to lost my ofuda? If I did lost it, does that mean I cannot recreate it or can I just create another set of ofuda's to focus on , just like writing in a scroll?

2. If I have a scribe scroll, wrote some of my spell on it and I lost my ofuda, can I copy the spells on my scroll and create another set of ofuda to focus on?

3. Can a shugenja focused on fire able to spontaneously cast cure *etc* spells? But since it is on the water school I highly doubt it though.

4. Can I commune with the wind if I use the commune with the elements spell? And what will it demand?

4. Is a shugenja allowed to be married? I mean, our D.M is pushing this marriage thing cause it is one of the duties of one in the clan. Though this appears quite good for roleplay but I myself am unsure about this.

5. Do I have to strictly follow what my families favored element?

And yes, I also like to know if anyone has been a shugenja and if they have any advice in what way I can effectively use it. Tnx in advance for all the help.

The only one I can answer is #3: A Fire shugenja cannot cast spells from the Water list; he can only learn Fire, Earth, Wind, and Universal spells.

The dishonor/recreation of the ofuda is up to the DM. Since they are not bound by the bushido code, honor and dishonor doesn't mean as much.

An ofuda-> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O-fuda

Its pretty inexpensive i would say, just writing on some paper.

2. If I have a scribe scroll, wrote some of my spell on it and I lost my ofuda, can I copy the spells on my scroll and create another set of ofuda to focus on?

You don't need scribe scroll to create your ofuda. Its also not your spellbook. Its a divine focus, thats all. Think of it as your holy symbol

3. Can a shugenja focused on fire able to spontaneously cast cure *etc* spells? But since it is on the water school I highly doubt it though.

A shugenja does not have the ability to spontaneous cast cure X spells. Thats the ability of the cleric. The shugenja is already casting spontaneously for his selected spells as per Table 1-4: Shugenja spells known. If you don't select Cure Light Wounds as a spell known, you cannot cast it.

4. Can I commune with the wind if I use the commune with the elements spell? And what will it demand?

I don't see the spell in Complete Divine. If its not on your allowed spell list you can't learn it.

4. Is a shugenja allowed to be married? I mean, our D.M is pushing this marriage thing cause it is one of the duties of one in the clan. Though this appears quite good for roleplay but I myself am unsure about this.

Yes, the rules do not state otherwise.Historically, the shugenja are followers of a religion, not its priests and as such are not bound by any partcular code of celibracy

Historical shugenja -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shugendo

5. Do I have to strictly follow what my families favored element?

Your family are all shugenjas? No there is no fixed rules that says you need to follow your family's element. There may be an RPG restriction such as join the water element or be banished by the elders in your family, etc. Check with your DM

And yes, I also like to know if anyone has been a shugenja and if they have any advice in what way I can effectively use it. Tnx in advance for all the help.

Yes, i have and i can tell you its a tough class. I would suggest the air element. It blocks the earth element but gives you water for healing and fire for offense. Air gives you flight and movement

Any hardcore tips? I mean I myself choose on being air with the above stated reason also.

Dump strength and wisdom. If you're human 10 int should be sufficient.
That should give you good charisma, con and dex.

Wear armor and shield even though you have no proficiency. The penalty for wearing armor without proficiency is a penalty to your attack roll and skills that involve moving. Your attack sucks so might as well let it suck. You're class skills don't particularly lend itself to movement skills anyway. Just make sure someone can pull you up a rope and lower you down one as well.

Cure light wounds is on your spell list so you can use a wand for out of combat healing. If you take it as 1 of your first level spells, you can swap it out at level 6 as by that time you probably have cure moderate. As a guage i try to keep my cure X spell about 1 level below my max spell level and i don't bother upgrading it once i have cure serious.

You're really going to suck at offense at level 1-4, after that try to pick up flaming sphere. It at least gives you an offensive spell.

I tend to take spring zephyr as the order as a number of good spells are there, saving you from having to pick them up through your favored element spell.

Skills wise, Knowledge (arcana/religion) is not important. Neither is spellcraft. You might need good concentration if you think tactical positioning is not your strong point. Diplomacy is good as it rides on your better than average cha

So boost concentration, diplomacy, get knowledge (nobility/royalty) at 5 ranks to get the synergy bonus, then throw a point to spellcraft and distribute the rest as you like

Oh yeah, confusion and firestorm should be taken as soon as you can. They are good combat spells. Take control winds when its wind strength is strong, and haste or buffing your party

Just remember the class is pretty horrible

If your campaign is using the Magic Item Compendium and you choose Detect Magic as one of your orisons, I'd suggest at least five ranks of Knowledge: Arcana so you can use an Artificer's Monocle to Identify magic items.
