| #1wizarddudeJun 28, 2010 22:55:36 | Hi, Was just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to remember certain situational bonuses. I play a barbarian and I find that there are at least three things I frequently forget: 1) bonus to damage after a charge due to powerful charge feat 2) forget that I can push with pressing strike 3) forget that when raging I can charge two more squares with howling strike. I like to try to speed up combat by not having to refer to my character sheet, so I try to memorize things, but it looks like I forget, or only remember the static bonuses. thanks in advance |

Preferably one that can pull info from your CB file or from the Compendium? I have a veritable chain of conditionals that drastically change the function of my powers, but the CB doesn't account for them. I just want to be able to easily add my own comments on the card. |

But I've got to the point where I've memorized the general use case for each power, so I tend not to refer to the cards even though I have them with me. I even tried highlighting the things I forget. But this doesn't help much if I don't refer to it. I played last night, but never raged or used Pressing strick, so that didn't come into play, but I forgot the charge bonus about 50% of the time. CB doesn't do a good job of showing were feats are usefull. It shows the bonus for Powerfull charge for Melee Basic Attack and Ranged Basic Attack (huh?????, how can you use a charge during a ranged basic attack?????), but it doesn't show it for Howling Strike which can be used during a charge. Make yourself a 'cheat sheet' and keep it with you. List on it any combat situational bonuses or relevant info and refer to it during combat. I'll try this next. Perhaps if I just have the cheat sheat on top, I will be more likely to review just one sheet rather then flip through the multiple sheets of CB.
I agree, I have been hoping that they would allow the cards to be editible. Or at least allow the ADDITIONAL EFFECTS field be editable. I use little tokens to help remember bonuses/penalties. Something visual and on the map helps me best. Well we use tokens and condition cards to remember temporary effects. Perhaps something on the table were I roll my dice might be a visual cue to remember things, (like tieing a string on your finger) |
