| #1radijsMar 27, 2008 18:21:54 | Our last campaign went titsup, due to several reasons which are too boring to mention. Anyway, the DM is a fan of the Eberron Campaign setting. He's dropping his current homebrew and we're going to start off in a few weeks. I've always wanted to play in the setting but I know very little about it. I've heard about the dragonmarked houses and that one house basically controls all aerial shipping due to their ability to control the elementals in the airships. And I thought it might be neat to play someone from that house. On the other hand I also know about warforged and I think they are great as well. So at the moment its a bit of a toss up what I want to do. Mechanically speaking I'd like to play a wizard though. I've never really had the chance to play a proper one. Can you guys help me make up my mind? |

Coupled with your dragonmark powers, it could be a cool concept. Perhaps the family uses him as a weapon onboard their airships. What better way to capture another airship intact if not by limited area effects and gusts of wind? For extra fun, make yourself excoriated from the house and now working as a pirate or mercenary in the Lhazaar Principalities or Stormreach. A pirate wizard, you say? Warforged can be fun if you want to play up the whole "fish out of water" aspect of the character. If you haven't played one before, it's certainly worth a shot. Races of Eberron has some nifty substitution levels for artificer, fighter, etc. that are cool to add some additional flavor. I have two Eberron characters right now: Diffendal d'Sivis, a gnome evoker/unbound scroll (dragonmark prestige class), and Curlot Thorn, a human rogue/ranger/extreme explorer. They have lots of Eberron flavor and are really fun to play. Have fun! |
