| #3tiornysMay 24, 2009 18:17:46 | I am going to be running an adventure with just two PCs, and they will both MC into 2 different roles, therefore 4 of 5 roles will be covered. I'm thinking of leaving out the leader... You thoughts? Well, I'm thinking that there are only four roles: Defender, Leader, Striker, and Controller. I'm also thinking that most classes have a primary and a secondary role, even without multiclassing. So, I think you can easily cover your bases with two characters. I'd recommend a base defender (for the HP and defenses) and a base leader (for the healing and buffing capability). Such a party will have much higher intrinsic survivability than say, a base Striker and a base Controller. Pick multiclasses as needed to compensate for stuff that's missing from secondary roles. For example, a Tempest Fighter (Defender sub striker) and a Cunning Bard (Leader sub controller) have things covered without needing to multiclass at all, whereas a Protecting Paladin (Defender sub leader) and a Tactical Warlord (Leader sub striker) probably want to pick up some control via multiclassing. t~ |
