uh oh... my DM is moving.
now, alot of problems arise from this, the main one being that i have no social life outside of D&D. if the group dies, so does my social life. now, the people in my group will still be my friends, but D&D is something i really love, and i will miss it alot. what do i do?

Why doesn't one of you just take the reins?

Also, Google Hangouts and roll20.net.

What area do you live in?

Obsidian Portal, Penandpapergames and meetup.com are all places to find more players/games/dungeonmasters.

not to mention the classifieds section on these boards.

And yes, why is no one else taking over?

What you need is a cardboard box, a stick, and some splat books and Cheetos for bait...

But seriously, basically boil down to continuing to play with your current DM and group online, finding a new group, or having the group appoint a new DM.  You could even offer to run a game yourself.

Get the group together and decide who will run together? Or look for a new group.

+1 to this.  This is how I found the group that I'm currently with.

I also second this suggestion.
This site has worked for me.

I third this suggestion.

And meetup.com is not just a gaming group site.  If you have other hobbies that your gaming friends do not enjoy, with meetup.com you can find an additional circle of friends for that hobby.  Personally, I joined meetup.com for gaming (and found two great groups by the way), but I also found a great golfing group and a skiing group Laughing.

Bit of trivia...meetup.com was originally created for victims of 9/11 to find (and comfort) each other Cool.
