Unconventional skills in skill challenges

When defining and running skill challenges, our DM often will allow us to use seemingly irrelevant skills if we can reasonably justify including them in the current challenge.

For example, a recent challenge required mostly social and intellectual skills (religion, diplomacy, streetwise, etc) which left our mighty barbarian without much to contribute (not even a high intimidate).  In the end, he managed to justify including a endurance check by drinking a suspect under the table and gleaning some key information out of him.

I'd love to hear other stories about unconventional skill uses in these types of situations (like working endurance/athletics/acrobatics into a negotiation or diplomacy into an urban chase).

After a nasty fight with a spiked-chain-wielding orc in the sewers, our party had to find the way out (the urchin guide that knew the way betrayed us to the orc).  While a Cleric, my knowledge, perception, and survival skills were lacking.  I looked at my sheet for something I could help the party with, and decided on Heal.  I explained why my Heal check would faciltate our escape from the sewers, saying that the massive wounds from the fight were likely to become quickly infected in the festering sewage.  Since we'd be walking around for at least an hour, nausea or septic poisoning might occur.

Of course, my war priest of Kord isn't too keen on fancy words, so he just wanted to keep poop out of everyone's wounds.  Makes you sick.

And of course I proceeded to roll a 3 on my check...

I once played with a full primal party (druid, shaman, warden, barbarian). Then we had a social skill challange and none of us had a decent social skill.

We had to obtain some items and one salesman had an eyepatch, we couldn't persuede him to sell his items at a reasonable price so I asked about his eye (I was the shaman with a decent heal skill, speak with spirits and the memory of a thousand lifetimes). He said the eye itched a lot and I offered to do some healing on it to fix the eye. I critted the roll and he gave us the goods for free.

In that same adventure we needed more things and one trick was possible thx to the DM, we could get a discount on some other goods if we joined in a hand wrestling contest (the barbarian and the warden) and lost at the right time. Our bluff skill was very weak so it was a great challenge but we got the choice, throw the fight (bluff) or fight (strength). It was beyond our honour to not fight but luckily they lost at the right times.

Side note on skill challenges:
-deva shamans rock (have made multiple thievery checks to disable traps thx to speak with spirits and memory of a thousand lifetimes with thievery skill of 0)
-familairs (especially flying ones) are great for all sorts of fun, like scouting through a waterfall and other fun things.
