VERY noob needs alot of help.

Jan 14, 2011 21:23:31 Hi guys. Im new to DND. I have the player's handbooks and all the stuff I need to play DND, but only place I know of that has a group is around an hour drive away from where I live. I remember reading in my player handbook that there was supposed to be something online so that I could play over the computer. But Icouldnt find it.

Is there something I am missing? and if there isnt an "official" game from Wizards, is there perhaps a subforum, or another site where I could get into a group online and play from the net?

Im pretty interested in the game, but driving 2 hours on my only full day off isnt quite possible when you have a wife to dedicate time to, but i can do a couple hours during a weekday if you know what I mean.

Any help would be GREAT. Thanks guys.

Jan 14, 2011 21:59:50 Well what you read about is VTT that was never released. They are working on one right now thats slightly less graphical, but that wont be out for a few months, there are other 3rd party programs out there there should be a list around here somewhere.

Ever try building your own group? You probably have some friends who would want to play

You can also try rpgmeetup.com . They are always emailing me about games near-ish my area.

Jan 16, 2011 19:21:04 If you are looking for a good free virtual table top program I recomend Maptool. It has a bit of a learning curve but once mastered it makes internet play a breeze. I use it, along with a skype account, frequently for gaming gatherings.
