| #1steveburgerMay 25, 2011 1:02:02 | Ive been trying to build a warlock over the last few days for my first 4e game which will be in the near future but has no set date yet. I decided I wanted to go with something that played on the warlock curse as much as possible, and used Ongoing damage as its main source of pain. I'm sure I've probably not got the best build or whatever, but neither here nor there. I just had a couple questions on some issues I've bumped into durring this process. 1) Lifesapper Rod and Rod of Corruption (Items) Lifesapper says "use this power when you place your warlocks curse on a target", while Rod of Corruption says "you can transfer your warlocks curse to each enemy". My thoughts were that you are placing a curse on each enemy, so that should allow the lifesapper rod to do its thing to each target that has fallen victim to the Rod of Corruption's ability. Since the Lifesapper doesnt say "target: one creature" and the Corruption rod lets you spread the curse to multiple targets simultaniously, I feel that it just comes down to interpretation of symantics; "A target" and "each enemy". As far as I figure, each enemy is a target.... right? 2) Aberrant Mark of Contagion (feat) now I don't want to be posting up word for word on these feats and things and breaking some kind of open liscence rules, so this will be slightly vague for those who dont have Eberon's Player Guide, but I really would like the input. Basically the way it sounds, if I use multiple daily powers on the same target in the same encounter, the penalty should stack up since it's not a specific type of penalty. I was curious if this is correct, because this turns Contagion and Flames of the Smoking Crown a bit more reliable when paired up on the same target. 3) Rod of Corruption and Bloodcurse Rod (Items) the Bloodcurse specifically says that you have to use it as the primary "channeling" implement in order to gain it's property effect, but the rod of Corruption just seems to require that a certain condition is met in order for its property effet to be triggered. Am I reading this properly and can I then use Bloodcurse in my mainhand and Corruption in my offhand in order to get 2 pops of warlocks curse from each cursed target (one from bloodied condition and the other from 0hp), and opt to spread my curse to other targets at the same time? Thank you in advance for any answers and info. It is very much appreciated =P |

Named elements do not stack with themselves (unless they specifically say so) so the second one doesn't work either. The third one seems to work. Whenever you bloody or kill an enemy your pact boon triggers, and whenever your boon triggers you can opt to forgo the normal effect to move your curse to each target within 5 squares of the original target. Note that you can generally get faster answers to rules based questions in the 4e Q&A section, that's where all the really knowledgable rules people are found |
