| #1micamanJun 21, 2011 20:59:28 | Hello, I am currently making a charactor for a 1st level viking adventure. I want to be able to repair our ship, but I dont know what skill to get: Craft (Carpentry), Craft (Woodworking), or Craft (Shipmaking). Should I get all or what? I am first level so I dont want to waste skills if i dont have to. I cant contact my DM right now so I was just wondering if anyone could tell me. Thanks, Micaman |

| #3micamanJun 21, 2011 21:09:46 | btw, is there any place to post 3.5 questions? |
| #4sallaJun 21, 2011 21:10:30 | The Previous Edition forums are further down, though this section of the forums is edition-neutral. |

| #6draco1119Jun 21, 2011 21:35:34 | Hello, Also possible choices would be Profession (Sailor) or Profession (Shipwright). Carpentry, Woodworking, or Sailor would be the ones that give you the most versatility. |
| #7micamanJun 21, 2011 21:43:01 | yea i got profession (sailor) |
| #8draco1119Jun 22, 2011 7:29:08 | yea i got profession (sailor) Make the case to your DM that, (especially way back then, but even now)sailors were expected to be able to make minor and somewhat major repairs to their own ships. You should be able, at minimum, to patch the sails and hull, probably repair a broken mast, and possibly even know how to replace the rope in the rigging (actually making new rope, I mean), but that's a long shot. If your ship already has the rope on hand, you should definitely be able to use that rope to repair the rigging. |
