| #1mephanorMay 17, 2011 13:19:09 | Alright, so I am playing with my 3.5 D&D group. We're playing rather unorthodox, let me explain that. We are 9 players, and we are all DM's, not at the same time, but we shift from time to time, since we are a mixture of both very experienced players and complete newbies. Though you might think that sounds like terrible idea, it's working fantastic! Now I have somethings that is complicated for the character that I play. (At this point I want to note that we made the ENTIRE world, both geographicly and on a society base by ourselves!) Firstly, I play a Half-Elf Arcane Archer, named Naïlo/ Nightbreeze(That is the goal, he has the means, he just need to gain 2 more levels for the 1st level wizard and then AA) He took the place of my old character(a Sorcerrer Gnome with a affinity for flames and alcohol) due to their past, and the fact the gnome died. Nightbreeze is to protect a member of the group, a blind monk, though his ways of doing so is rather wierd. He already stated that he would kill the entire party if they oppose to his mission. He also choose not to go with them through an 1000ft long Ogre village, he instead stole one of the orge's WAR ELEPHANT(We'll soon get to that) And travelled around, in a nifty disguise. He is then not trusted by the party, due to his aggresive manners(We play with Flaws/Traits and someone rolled Daredevil ) The Grey-Orc of the party, likely our LEAST trust worthy party member(Even consindering me) sliced my throat last session, not killing me due to our paladin's heroic rescue, but he is left with a hole in his throat(making it unable for him to dive) and he is mute, unless we find a specialist and lots of gold. What I have been thinking is:
Party Information: 1st: Our Ranger Elf, she is turning emotional cold and slowly turning drow(That's our explanation for Drow's, its Elf with no emotions, we included the looks) 2nd: Our Paladin Warforged, he is a machine, supossed to be loyal to the.. core.. to the Gnome, his master, told to trust Nightbreeze, but ceases to do so. 3rd: Our Favored Soul Grey-Orc l, he is a worshipper of dragons and sometimes he is a zealot, crying for death and destruction of the "heathens". 4th: Our Barbarian Minotaur, A sailor of the seas, a merchant and a decent hit, he strikes hard and he learns things, due to the gnome trading his soul for the return of the Minotaurs, he is now also at his new level of sorcerer? 5th: Our Bard Satyr, yes we have one of these, not much explaining needs done, he is an odd fellow, he also happens to be a pyroaniac. 6th: Our Monk Anarch, never heard of Anarch?(www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Anarchs_%283.5e_Ra... [We went with a different approach to Anarchs, but still the random spawn thing]) A nice fellow, blind, doesn't say alot, except for his 10 rules, which is all he really says, the prime target for Naïlo. 7th: Our Figther Water genesai Aqua-man, a decent fighter, likes his 2 tridents and is a still a teenager, a fun member of the group. 8th: Our Hexblade(Complete Warrior) Human, a man restored by magical powers for thousands of years, the mysterius type in our party, swings his custom blade around and always focuses on the mission, even when we don't. 9th: Me, our Fighter(Arcane Archer) Half-elf, A minor noble, but doesn't brag about it, wears only the finest Mithril and the strongest Bows, his only trusts are his Orginasation, his Hawk(Familiar), the Blind Monk and the Elephant. TL;DR: Wierd Party.. |

| #3LangrisheMay 17, 2011 16:09:38 | what would YOU do, and how does my plan sound? Shoot the hostage. |
| #4sallaMay 17, 2011 17:46:30 | I'd walk. This game sounds ripe with the kind of wanker PvP that ruins everybody's fun. |

I'd walk. This game sounds ripe with the kind of wanker PvP that ruins everybody's fun. Hey, he may like that style of game. His fun is not our fun and all. |

He wants us to give advice about how he should deal with a PC that's nearly as disruptive as his own. My answer isn't going to make him happy, though: everyone needs to re-roll their PCs, with a focus this time on creating a group of people with some incentive to actually work together--rather than what he currently has, which is a group of people whose bizarrely selfish and foolish in-game actions lead them to scheming, betrayals, and attempted murder. |

Eh, I've seen both CN and NE played not only very well, but very heroically, at that. Granted, those players were very experienced, and understood that those alignments were tools for an interesting character, not an excuse to act like a jerk. |

I've seen people play LG paladins and exhaulted characters that were just as disruptive as these. They weren't playing it well, but that is what they thought they were doing. |
