What to do:  Post a situation, obviously not  combat, no die rolling or anything, and mention who your character is and the next person down responds to it, saying what they would do.
I'll start out.

The town you are in is being invaded by a neighboring city.  A group of invading soliders are holed up in an inn, and the captain of the guard, who is  helping you coordinate a defense, tells you that you need to find a way to elimanate this group of enemies. There are far too many to fight.

If the captors are nearby, Intimidate(Barbarian)/Bluff(Rogue)/Diplomacy(Paladin) the captors to free us and let us help defend the group from the wolves because clearly we are outmatched. Then have the Barbarian and the Warlord knock the wolves unconsious and use them as large furry clubs against our former captors.

  • Rogue: Tell the wizard to use his prestidigitation and/or telekinesis to lift as much gold as he can off the floor and into my backpack, since I succeed on a bluff check and am the most responsible with coinage. Then bail and spend the night at the local tavern while the Fighter dies quickly.

Just as your low level party realizes the room you just entered is a dead end, the stone doors behind you crash shut and water begins flooding in from the ceiling. You have about a minute before the room is fully flooded, and you see no way out but the now sealed doorway. What do you do?

  • I leave the table to familiarize myself with the 4e rules for Invoker and Seeker, while my friend the cleric uses Summon Monster to force any and all small or medium creatures to be summoned inside the rockfall, the displacement from which will cause the cave rubble to fall away cleanly. Warlock Eldritch Blasts some rocks just for kicks, and we all succeed on our climb checks after the scroll grants us temporary bonuses to strength. Thank Boccob for that too, because the next thing we do is find the nearest warrior NPC and hire him to provide some melee backbone in a party that's only going to withstand about a round and a half of gobln spears.

The party tracks a mysterious wizard to a bed and breakfast situated above a butcher shop. The wizard, who is supposed to be the party's contact into the local Merchant's Guild, has offered you cookies and ice cream. Not meaning to be rude, you chow down and listen patiently as he describes his troubles with the stock market. Everything seems to be going A-OK, but then the paralysis from the food kicks in and with a puff of smoke the wizard grabs each of your arms, smiles wryly, and leaves the four of you polymorphed into sheep. Then he hops out the window with a chuckle, and you're left with the footsteps of Mungo the orcish butcher closing in to investigate the commotion. What do you do?

Okay, I have a couple solutions:

1. Tesner's Floating Disk the Avenger over the flames (since he can keep everyone at bay and use the  fire as an environmental hazard with his movement capabilities), then send it back for each party member, 1 at a time.

2. If the fire's burning too fast for the 10 minute cast time of TSD, then a simpler solution comes into play: pee it out.

3. If that doesn't work and we're pressed for options, have the biggest team member run out and try to find something big enough to make a bridge for the team. Possibly, use an enemy's body

1. Have the druid wild shape into a hawk or eagle, fly a rope over. Wild shape back to base race, tie it to the nearest rock or tree, then pray that you roll high on your balance checks.
2. If not pressed for time, spiderclimb down the chasm and then back up the other side.
3. Summon hippogryph.

A group is sitting at a bar, when a fighter comes over and harasses them about puny muscles.  The bar has a no structual damage rule.

Bard kindly asks the (probably drunk) fighter to bugger off, and if he complains, the three magic users do everything in their power to turn him into a flowerpot. Then we set the flowerpot on the doorstep, ask the bartender to lock the doors, and calmly go back to our drinks, knowing that we didn't break a single barstool.

An invisible creature will assassainate the Duke any minute now, how do you stop it?

Bring out that goblin prisoner we've been lugging around for the past three months, command the Duke to pass his title and all his wealth over to the goblin, and hope the invisible creature keeps up to date on local politics.

The party enters Hotel California where there is plenty of room for them.  A party member just remembered he left his hat outside.  How does he get his hat?

Considering the one who lost the hat was probably the Barbarian with the head lice, we make it a priority to ensure that nobody else touches it and spreads the disease that could cripple the material plane. If we lose our room, we promptly tell the management that we have averted the apocolypse and should be comped the VIP suite for our service.

The party just spent an exhausted night in the Moldy Brick Inn after killing three dragons, stopping the necromancer, and seperating the lich from his phylactery, only to wake up the next morning to find the phylactery missing with a silver piece in its place. What do you do?

You disguised yourself as a douche cleric (who has previously used implosion on your party, brought them back from the dead and told if you dont wanna die again go on this quest to steal items of great importance) to save your friend who sits in a jail and the douche cleric is high ranking enough  no questions are asked when you said release him.they take you back there only to find when u crossed the threshold of the jail it had an anti-magic field and your disguise self spell wears off you are now in jail too. A high-ranking cleric kills your party, brings you all back to life, and orders you to steal some items on pain of death. One of the party members is arrested for attempted theft, and to get him out of jail you disguise yourself as the cleric and convince the jailguards to let him go. However, when they take you back to the cell an anti-magic field dissipates disguise self and you are jailed for being an imposter. What do you do?

*Sorry for editing your words, OCD forced me to clean that up. Let me know if I oversimplified anything.
Assuming that:

  • a) each of the jail cells are also lined with anti-magic fields

  • b) the jailers have taken away my items including my spell components

  • c) the local justice system is fair and we have a visiting hour at the jail, a sentencing period, and a trial,

I meet with the two un-arrested party members and suggest that the Barbarian goes directly to the high-ranking cleric and tells him that since he forced us into this mess he is responsible for paying our bail fee or getting us out. If he doesn't agree to that, the barbarian will kill him (Intimidate skill). If this fails (or the high-ranking cleric is unaccessable) we go to court (or whatever the local equivalent is), and tell the jury (or whoever is determining our sentence) about how the high-ranking cleric threatened us into stealing the items and how legally the cleric is responsible for the thefts, not us. This isn't even a lie, so no Bluff skill needed. Then, we leave our lives in the hands of the court, and if they sentence us death we re-roll characters with destinies to hunt down corrupt clerics and kill them all.
