Well for starters Ive played DnD about 2 years off and on. And I always played 3.5. Yesterday I went in local Barnes and Noble and bought myself the new players handbook. But my question is how do find friend group of people willing to start game. The place i used to play closed down, it was local hobby shop that warhammer, warhammer 40k and the list goes on forever. Im from Wilkes Barre Pa, and looking to play again..
thanks

Is there a college/university near by? If so ask around if they have any gaming clubs.

I second the college / university route. Always Gamers abound in some sort of club....

It's not my favourite ways of playing but you could also:

1) Join a PBEM group (seems to take forever though)
2) Find a group that plays live online using something like DDI's game table but unlike DDIs that's actually available. That way geographic location isn't so important......only timezones.

for DDI you would need to go to the gaming table. There is a monthly fee to use the DDI however so you need to keep that in mind. And you will also need a windows based computer as they do not have support for macs at this time.

PBEM is play by email.

I also recommend checking out the Wizards community forums for online games here. I found my current weekly Maptool 4th edition group on those forums, and it's going pretty well. (Maptool is a free java based online RPG table client that can be found here.)
