I am at a quandry right now. I basically am taking over as the parties rogue.

Here are the basics of my character. (we run a high powered campaign, I also managed some spectacular rolls)

8 Wizard/ 1 Rogue

HP: Pretty High actually 85 (I have false life up, oh and I rolled well too, infront of my DM)

Str. 14
Dex. 18 (22)
Con. 18
Int. 26 (28) (18 base , 2 from levels, we had a +5 int tome, not sure where the point came from, ill check my notes later)
Wis. 12
Cha. 12

I am not too worried about having a low search or disarm skill ( I have a very high int modifier), The main problem is I am unsure (without doing alot of research right now, I left my books at my DMs place) what PrC's are out there for Wizard Rogues.

What I want out of the PrC is that the important class skills from wizard and rogue stay class skills, you know all knowledges Disarm Trap, Search, Listen, Spot, Hide, Move Silently. I would like to keep the Rogues BAB, and the Wizards spell progression. However if I have to choose one I want to keep the Spell Progression.

As it is I was working on getting to the point where I could take the Dual wand Weild feat, I can take it (I think, i'll look that up later). However that is sorta on hold while I figure out what feat to get next as well. I am think either skill focus (search) or Improved Init. (Going first usually means the difference between us winning with little dmg taken or several characters nearly dieing, we think it's fun though)

When I started this character I had the idea to someday pick up a couple levels in rogue, however we had another player that min/maxxed his rogue out heavily. He did make a deal with a merchant in our setting that basically give him a discount on everything he would buy, in return when he did finally die it would all go to the merchant. Oh yeah part of the deal was no Ressurections for his character from anyone.

Well the players Rogue did finally die, so I decided my next level will be rogue since It was in my original plan.

Daggerspell Mage.

It's pretty feat-heavy with prerequisites and has a large focus on combat.

Take a look through Z's Guide to Rogues for more on rogue prestige classes.

Don't forget the Arcane Trickster was first published way back in 2001 which is five years earlier than the Seer and very early in the games history. It may have gratuated to the DMG with 3.5 but it underwent no changes except seeing exclusive skill dropped which made it a touch more accessable. Ask the DM to update the AT with a 3/4 BAB and six skill points per level (just like the Seer gets) and I think it would be great.

Magelord (Lost Empires of Faerun) has excellent progression and even adds sneak attack. The feats to get in are beastly, you'll probably need Psychic Reformation to even attempt it.

It's not a bad topper once you've finished Unseen Seer 4 / as much Arcane Trickster as you can stomach. It has decent abilities and a much cooler name.

Unseen Seer is the best of the bunch. You might consider topping off with Arcane Trickster levels at the end, just so you'll keep getting full spellcasting and sneak attack.

On a side note I am currently wearing a Mithril Chain Shirt +1 of Nimbleness. I have a 10% spell failure chance. (we have a special chart in our campaign that offers all kind of exciting things when a spell failure happens)

At any rate does anyone know of a feat or magic ability that could be added to the chain shirt to lowwer the spll failure chance?

Twilight, +1 bonus.

Feycraft/Githcraft. Maybe some augment crystals?

What book does twilight come from? and how much does it help out?

I don't know how close you come to the Dragonslayer class I mentioned earlier but it provides all the weapon and armor proficiencies need to enter the Spellsword (CWar) which gets rid of 10% ASF at first level. Spellsword is the most traditional way to lower ASF.

The Twilight armor property originally appeared in the Exhalted Deeds book. It has since appeared in the PHB2. If I recall it is that 10% that would be left over after getting a Mithral Chain Shirt as it seems to be a very popular wizard armor.

Until you can get Twilight put on it, Thistledown padding (Races of the Wild) will reduce ASF by 5% at the cost of -1 armor check.

The Book of Exalted Deeds, or the PHB 2 (under Duskblade, which is ironic because it doesn't help them). Reduces ASF by 10 percent.

add twilight armor ability to it for the win and 0% chance of failure
it is located in phb2 near the duskblade section at the beginning of the book

edit: boy sometimes i wish i would read the whole post before posting, I was really late on this one
